Which "Build Your Own Website" is Best

I need to build an e-commerce website ASAP. I decided to build it myself since my last experience with a professional did not go very well. Like they say, "you get what you pay for" and I wasn't able to pay very much, so that's pretty much what I got!

I started to look all over for a "fill in the blanks" type of on-line web builder and found many, but they don't all have what I need: easy to build, a good looking design, plus the ability to capture email addresses (capture box) and have an email blast program, auto responder and all the other things that make building an on-line company successful. But since this site will also be used as my author/bio page, it needs to be very professional looking as well. It doesn't have to be free but I can only afford $50-$60/month.

    Any recommendations????

    Thank you!

    Stacey

Do you know if I have to get a hosting package (hostgator) before going to Wordpress? I have a Wordpress blog account now. Can I simply add the ecommerce option to what I already have?

    Thanks!

I wanted to create my own website to promote products and didnt know anthing about it. I tried to build one using "how to build a websites". They were easy to use but they didnt really do what I needed and like you said the control panel was way confusing.

I found this place on Facebook. They guranteed I could build a website after I used them. It was actually pretty cool. They were able to log right onto my computer and show me everything I needed. It took about 2 hours. When I was done I could build just about any kind of website I wanted.
( I have found website building is very addictive )

I keep making page after page and can customize it anyway I want.
It was only $75.00 and they were very professional. I think they were just starting out. The guy that helped me was really nice. He explained everything he was doing while I watched from my computer screen. Then I took over and he watched and talked me through all the steps.

    Anyway, I hoped this helped.
If you are interested the website is remote web builder.com

I learned a lot about yahoo sitebuilder which is very easy to use. You can make any kind of web page you want. I didnt learn any html because it is all cut and paste. I did learn some tricks the guy showed me to get really cool things I can ad to my website for free.
You have to sign up with Yahoo web hosting because thats is what sitebuilder needs to publish. It is very cheap though. I pay by the month so if I want to cancel I can at any time. I also get a lot of e mail accounts with Yahoo and unlimited bandwidth, what ever that means.
