According to the liberals all is peachy though. They live in their own reality.

    Great going Obama.

National uemployment for October is the highest since 1983.

    Yay liberals.

Since October 1983... Hmm... who was President then? Wasn't it saint Ronald Reagan?! Ha! You guys kill me. Following your logic the unemployment rate of 1983 would be reason enough to kick Reagan out of office... but didn't he win a huge landslide victory in 1984? And... that was only the next year! Obama's election is still three years off.

No one is saying that the economy is all better, only that unemployment tends to lag behind. The leading indicators support the idea that the economy is recovering. Of course for most average Americans, the unemployment rate is the most important aspect of the economy, no denying that - I agree with that 100%. Average Americans won't feel the economy is recovering until the jobs start coming back.

Of course since the right wingers are laying blame on Obama for high unemployment, that will mean he gets all of the credit when it starts to drop.

    ---

Also, isn't it patriotic the way right wingers celebrate every bit of bad news for this country?

Nothing to say about saint Ronald Reagan having a higher unemployment rate in the 3rd year of his Presidency than Obama has in his first? Nothing at all? *crickets*

The thread was about the announcement that we've hit 10.2% unemployment which is the highest since 1983. CMike wrote "Yay liberals." because he is extremely anti-liberal and blames them for this news. I see him as @ the complete opposite end of the spectrum as you and your constant posting about "right wingers".

As far as your enemy the right wingers celebrating this announcement it looks more to me like an attempt to change the subject. But since it's important for you to bring that up in this thread, please show me who is celebrating this for my own records. Either you come up with examples I can put on my "idiot" list or you don't and I assume you're FULL OF CRAP and simply trying to spread hate.

OK, so Reagan was President @ our last highest unemployment rate before this one. Great news!... I guess for you somehow. Were you in diapers @ that point? It's obvious you have a problem with Reagan with you recommending reading a book that's anti-Reagan, what pro-Reagan book have you read to balance out your information source to ensure you're not biased?

I think it's quite obvious that CMike is celebrating this news. I guarantee you he would not have posted if the unemployment rate had gone down. It's just like the Fox Republican channel constantly talking about the stock market when it was down in the spring but barely talking about it going up 50% since then! For right wingers bad news for America = good news for them (because in their twisted minds everything bad that happens is somehow President Obama's fault even though he inherited a horrible mess from the previous administration.)

The Reagan point is also similarly obvious: CMike is trying to blame our current President for these high unemployment numbers, by the same logic he would also blame Reagan for the 1983 numbers, especially considering those numbers came further into Reagan's Presidency and thus can be more easily tied to him than these numbers can to Obama.

As far as reading a "pro Reagan" book, I'm not interested in reading propaganda. I'm interested in facts. I've seen and read more than my share of Reagan propaganda, but the truth is most Reagan lovers don't know the first thing about what Reagan actually did during his Presidency. It's pathetic.

The unemployment rate is heading to 13%.

A lot of the stimulus money was used to give teachers raises, or given to ACORN, broadband to rural areas and inner city, aid to the states. Basically the Stimulus was government spending with very little infrastructure projects that could really help the economy grow.

They're in love with the "IDEA" of Reagan, not the reality.

You had the S&L Crisis, Iran-Contra, the double-dip recessions, a housing bubble, AIDS, Crack, and huge budget deficits.

On the other hand, you the Berlin Wall came down.

Reagan basically ignored huge segments of the country. But, because Reagan believed in the "IDEA" of conservative politics, he gets no critical examination.

That is reserved for non-whites and Liberals.

You've mistaken Jimmy Carter for Ronald Reagan. Easy mistake to make having not lived through those years... ;)

The double-dip recession were caused by inflation and overspending by the Jimmy Carter and the democrat controlled Congress. The first dip was in 1980 and the second dip was 1981.

Interest rates needed to be raised to 20% in order to reduce the money supply.

    At least someone remembers..

I find it kinda ironic that the president said that things would get worse without his plan. Now we find out that opposite is true. His plan has actually made things worse. Nice...

All I want from Obama is to do NOTHING.. Doing Nothing would be better than what hes doing right now.

According to your own statistics, the EMPLOYMENT COLLAPSE started in April of 2008.

Wasn't a conservative President at that time?

You can't spend your way to prosperity. At some point inflation will go out of control.

What happens if the economy gets worse? Spend more money that the US doesn't have.

I agree. I just don't make any distinction as if Politician A is somehow different from Politican B just because one stands on the left or right or claims a "L" or "C" belief.

They all want what you have while giving very little in return.

The power of the Federal government is its power to spend.

If the government doesn't spend, it has no power.

Since the Federal government always wants more power, it will always spend what it doesn't have, and come up with some excuse to do it (freedom, security, general welfare, propsperity, etc.).

April 2008 it was 5%. It's now 10.2%. It's now more than double under the liberal president.
