facebook is still the big thing in Canada, the privacy of facebook is great, I think thats what facebook users like the most. I don't see facebook going anywhere there sure it might not be the big thing one day. But i like the fundamentals is based upon. It has a very solid base in my opinion. From a business perspective in my view there is greater potential in facebook than anyother social media program. Not sure how they will end up in the future but if i was running that show theres would be alot of ideas i could through out there tha i think would make allot of money and users happy!
I found this amusing site, it just shows what the facebook audience is like: http://www.lamebook.com/ there are some real gems there
When I open facebook now, I just check updates, check who's online and check if there are any messages or friend request. Unlike before that I spent many hours playing farmtown or answerinfgsome test in facebook.
Yes I still use Facebook , its quite good for keeping in touch with your friends and for playing lame games... lol
After reading through some of the comments here, its not facebook's or orkut's fault for people spending waking, productive amount of time in the social networks. I would like people to read this url blog entry on the topic. It may just be prodporn, or a perk-up or a refresher when people visit social sites to get their minds out of a daily rut in terms of searching for some solace, peace or happiness. there are also people who waste time on it. I usually spend less than 15 minutes a day on these networks. Link: http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2...ly-the-latest-scapegoat-for-productivity-loss
I think the future belongs to focused social networks - those that focus on a particular topic or niche - instead of the generic, one-size-fits-all social networks (facebook, myspace, etc.) currently in vogue.
I really dislike it now after the new skin. Reasons: 1. When I post a status it does not show on the main ''Home''. (You have to goto ''Profile'') 2. They have gone much slower. I dont like it now. However I dont quit.
I still like facebook way better than myspace. Myspace is losing market share. Facebook's whole connect thing is brilliant, I know some sites that utilize this feature and I think it's great from a marketing standpoint. I can see how users might be sick of facebook but the truth is it helps bring people together way better than myspace ever did.
hey guys, what do you think is better to generate traffic to your site with facebook? -having large number of friends? -being owner of large groups or fan pages? if you have any tips and tricks please share.
facebook, has always sorta sucked to me, but I can't walk away from the potential of being able to market to over 200 million users and growing.
Hey you may try some other like orkut etc . Also now New orkut is availabe in the market so have fun on new one
I still use it, it's useful for keeping contacs with old friends. and for marketing, you can use it to generate targeted traffic by using pages/group
since about a year ago facebook is keeping the apps as a "secondary thing" and doing less importance to it then the actual user's profile and it's friends. few years ago when they begin with the apps it became so popular that profiles had dozens of apps making the site extremely messy
I still use facebook, for games mostly though. One thing i don't like, you can easily cheat and get into the highscores list for the game! Not coool.
