I'm looking at a site I help contribute to www.MiamiBlog.com. Up until about two months ago, it ranked well, got good traffic, and did well under Miami based keyword combinations. Now, it's not doing so hot. I think it was penalized. Can anyone help me identify what is wrong here? I see some bad inbound links from some German spam sites (it appears) but if anyone can help, I'm willing to compensate for time.
Yes if you had penalty by google you will not be indexed. Actually continue link building for these keywords, which you want.
You can be indexed but still hot show up on the first page of results for your target term. That's the diff between de-indexed and penalty. Some sites may see a -35 penalty, some may see a -950 penalty. Even if you're not banned, you just won't show up in the first 5, 10, or 100 pages. Does the Goog count stability for rankings? Check this: Domain Tools - miamiblog.com NS History: 25 changes on 12 unique name servers over 3 years. IP History: 26 changes on 16 unique name servers over 4 years. Yikes. Try running the backlink checker at backlinkwatch.com It takes a few minutes to complete, but one thing I noticed almost immediately. Same anchor text, no deep-linking, and links from only a few domains. Hope this helps
Thanks so much, especially the last poster. I haven't spent too much time on linking for this site, as it's just something I own but don't manage. But yeah, when I take a look at the backlinks, it's apparent that's a very weak, not-well-rounded profile. Thanks again and if anyone has any more tips, I'm all ears.
your site index by G site:miamiblog.com but when i search miamiblog (without .Com) in G and it's not in the search
I can add as input that when you go to the site seopenalty.com you can check whether your site has really been penalized by google or not. I dont know how their algorithm works, but I guess it is different from a "Google banned check", banned means your site is not appearing at all in the search results. Penalty must then mean a demotion of some sort in the search engine ranking results. That said, link backs from spam sites cannot possibly be a factor to penalize sites. If that were theoretically, possible, all one had to do was to buy some spam domains and pay spammers to drop links of competitors in them, and their position will go down in the serps. So dont worry about incoming spam links. But google has a more authoritative word here which I havent had time to go through: Links from Pr0 sites and dealing with low-quality backlinks - http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/10/dealing-with-low-quality-backlinks.html
It seems that your blog is an autoblog and you don't have original content. That explains your concern.
google dislike copies from other website. You need to create your own content. and besides your website might be get involved in sandbox. wait and see.
Create unique and fresh content, maybe the google dance is switching you from positions on the Serps.
Same thing happened with one of my website. This is for the first time to me. And I am very concerned because that's my client site. I hope, it will come back...All of my 50 targeted keywords on which I am on 1st page and today, not there in 100 searches. Very depressed with the Google Search today!
ur domain is aged so u should get some good position if u do proper SEO, may be some small penalization for u .. Any how better try to work hardly on promotion
