    Hi Friends

    Today i have checked my external links of my blog using webmaster tools. Surprisingly Google shows me my Twitter page as back Link.

    As mattcutts said earlier, Google considers nofollow links too as back links (Depends on the authority of site which contains your link)

    Anyone have similar experience? What did you think about this?

    I just checked this and the link on your account page seems to be nofollow within the source code of the page. So, is it dofollow or nofollow?..

    There is no such thing as Dofollow. That is internet crap spewed by people without a clue.

    @OP

    GWT shows you the links it sees.

    This does not mean that it scores those links as being valuable, it is nothing more than a snapshot of what they found.

    Considering Twitter links usually use URL shortner services, this would not have much value to increasing SERP or PR.

    In fact if the links are shortened then the site where the URL is shortened would receive the link juice.

    One would think it would have to be No-follow, most links are encoded / are parsed via Url shorting services rendering you link / anchor / website pointless ?

    It's a nofollow link ..

    The thing that make people confuse a little bit is the meaning of "nofollow" in the eyes of Google Bot

    nofollow link, for the Google Bot means a "link that don't pass PR juice" POINT

    No it isnt dofollow (there is nothing like "dofollow" its just an opposite of nofollow attribute)
    Google webmaster tools shows yahoo answers links as backlinks as well, does that mean that they are followed? No!!

    Google counts the nofollow attribute links as backlinks, but don't mean it will get any link juice.

    Is it real true? I haven't been into the social networking websites as thinking them to be waste of time. But i think its really good to check them now.

    Lol is it your first time using webmaster tools? Sometimes it shows nofollow links also. Twitter is nofollow for sure.

    If people want to use the term "dofollow" because it's easier than saying "not nofollow", then maybe you should lighten up and let them. Instead you post twice about how right you are, and how people don't have a clue.

    Google has been showing nofollow links for awhile now.

    Are you saying that even though there is no pr juice you still get benefit in serps? In other words can you move up the search engines with these no follow links?
