I've been having to watch Fox News lately to get a more inside look at who they are. A lot of pompous friends of mine won't watch the news because it's "trash" but in my opinion, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Fox news is mostly entertainment, and they have been eating up the extra attention they've been getting by putting up graphics on their shows like "WHITE HOUSE UNAPPROVED" and other nonsense to try to show they are being patriotic by standing up against the president (and would have denounced anyone doing that under the previous administration because we were at war...Wait what?...We're still at war?...Really?)

This is the genius of Fox: They are not wrong. They do tell the truth. They are emotional and over the top and sensationalist, and pander to the lowest common denominator.

Before I go any further and rant on Fox, I will say this: THEY ARE THE ONLY NEWS ORGANIZATION THAT IS REMINDING THE COUNTRY WE ARE STILL AT WAR AND ARE HUMANIZING IT.

CNN, my personal favorite, treats the war very coldly and with an outstretched arm. If they are the opposition to Fox, shouldn't they be attacking the war and putting up how many died and their names every single day? Fox reminds its viewers that the soldiers are people and are fighting to protect their freedom.

It is a very dangerous mix where the "higher" news organizations are becoming less and less connected with making a direct connection with the viewer and are acting as, you know, a robotic delivery system of the news (which is what some people think news should be, unemotional facts).

That would be true if our media did not have the duty to also check and balance the government as the "4th branch," something taught in text books and said on Fox news, but strangely gets emitted from the script at the more liberal news networks.

Fox will lie and make people feel good about themselves in order to be connected, but they create a unity and if someone watches their program with a rational mind; they CAN take good out of each broadcast. You cannot let your guard down with them, and arguably any news network, for a second.

CNN makes each person feel like they are detached from the elitism and things are happening out of their control; Fox tries to rally the people to action. It is up to the viewers, not the news networks, to get things done.

The reason why Fox's ratings have gone up so much is easy to see.

You have almost the entire left wing media licking Obama's private parts, and fawning all over them.

The only major news network asking tough questions and challenging what Obama does is Fox.

    Fox has a niche.

If you want to watch a news network that utterly fawns and worships Obama, there are all the other news networks.

If you want to watch a news network that challenges what Obama does there is Fox.

I find it equally ironic that every news anchor, reporter, or personality on Fox came from a liberal network first. Go figure.

I personally think if you want to really get what's going on around the world you have to watch a bit of all the news channels. Gotta keep up on the news and views of the opposing opinion.

Do I have any idea if Fox News has higher ratings just because of Obama? No. Could be a combination of things. It's obvious that people are fed up with a Congress that doesn't seem to give a damn about the 'real' world. When you start to doubt things, you look to other sources.

I do find it to be a stupid move on Obama/his cabinet to blatantly bash a news network because of their opposing opinion. One of the most unAmerican things to do is try and silence free speech.

MSNBC is the only reliable source of "True" information available on TV (oh, and Link TV of course). Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann are the arbiters of truth an we mere mortals can only bask in their brilliance and hope that some of it wears off on us for being in it's presence. When Garafalo goes on Olbermann and calls anyone opposed to Obama's policies a racist, the naked truth of the statement should be obvious to everyone. I am a white skinned first generation American, but I wish I could be some other color so I could be less of a racist.

Only Obama and his minions get to decide what the truth is.

According to conservatives, ALL the other networks are "the liberal media".

... so where else would they have come from?

I think I asked you before to help out here - We MUST stamp out all fascism!

Please go to that thread and show your support.

The point is, they got sick of making up news and giving commentary rather than simply reporting news and letting the viewer make up their own mind. That there's the difference!!!
