Here`s a good one for the filesharers amongst us.. After reading a thread on here about UGotFile I decided it might be about time to actually log in to my UGF account and see what was going on..To cut to the chase,I basically switched from using UGF to Hotfile as my primary uploading site after a small proportion of my blog readers incessant (sp) whining that they had territory restrictions.Fair enough.. Thing is after checking figures (please dont ask for proof,its all true) it seems I made as much dollar from my referalls as I did from my file downloads and soon it will be more.Not bad seeing as I hardly used UGF since May this year!..All my work went into Hotfile and Ive roughly made the same amount in the same timespan with both services.I`m good on referalls and site sales from Hotfile and I`m at platinum too.I just cant get my head round the fact that UGF is still on a par monetarily with HF,when i`ve literally done zip all.All my files are still there which is a bonus,because Hotfile have deleted some of mine..and I have more files in my Hotfile account than I do UGF! I just thought I`d pop a quick post on here to let everyone know.I wasn`t even going to ask for people to sign via my referalls!!Tho,I might as well while I`m here lol. Seems that the referall side of things is really worth looking into.Their 2 tier system must really work.It has to be the whopping 50% comission on premium sales thats done it.If you maybe have a group of friends that upload/share that could even be better than what Hotfile offer over the long run.. I think I`ll have another go with UGF just to see what the crack is now.Maybe I got the referalls thru here,cos I haven`t really been spamming or pushing for ref`s anywhere really,so thanks to whoever has signed up thru me.. uGotFile vs Hotfile..I dont know now.Any opinions guys?
UGF pays more to the uploader, but unless you got a high traffic site with rare stuff, you wont be making atleast half of what you get at HF. its because HF is much more preferable to downloaders and hence you will get more downloads in it. also UGF are not allowed in most forums now whats your weekly revenue from UGF and HF? with screens please
UG can sometimes pisses downloader off, the waiting interval is ridiculous, once I saw "123456789 seconds to wait"
Hey leekerr I think you and I have something in common. I tried UGF very hard, but didn't get much. So, I tried other hosts. But in the long run, UGF pay me the most. Here is earning history: As you can see, I didn't do much from June to September. But now, I am heading back to UGF for more! Good luck leekerr
Cheers for your comments guys..I think I`m going to roll with both UGF & Hotfile for a while and see how it goes.My Hotfile sites are running fine so there`s not really much point in switching everything back over to UGF and alienating the punters.I`m considering a few options still,maybe a mirror to UGF along with the usual HF links but I`m wondering if that will diminish HF site sales??Anybody here using both??Some more tips/ideas would be more than welcome..
All file sharing sites want you to bring them premium users. If you do not want to bring premium to UGF, I think you better stick with HF as well. UGF do not pay you much for download. But they pay you a lot when you bring them premium. Even better that they have it recurring month after. By the way, I think you shouldn't dilute your current earning. Perhaps, you can do some tests. If you like it, create a new blog or site so you can track every single one. You will find out exactly how much each site gives you. With the `123456789` error. I email them last week. They said they got it fixed. I never encounter such error, but I got complaint from my downloader.
thanks xmanu..I took a bit of your advice and made a forum solely for my UGF files.What I wouldnt mind knowing though,if I invite other people to post on the forum,how would the income generated by premium accounts be split?Who would get what?if you know what I mean..

How in the world that you get to know the script and formula they use? You know how Hotfile ranking formula works?
Read their stuffs. They have it written everywhere. Hotfile info is not transparent. I wish I know. But I know for sure they have the following parameters: -- Total traffic download by free (wasting their money) -- Total disk space used (wasting their money again) -- Total sales (Oh yeah! Income) If you could increase the last factor and decrease the top 2. You would get top dollar per download. All of them are like that. At the end of the day, money is the only thing that matter. How do I know UGF formula? Goto their cookie or affiliate info page. If you share other people's file, you have 80% chance of getting premium sales as well as cookies. The owner gets 20%. I prefer hotfile but that is cause it is more popular with the downloaders and i cant remote upload to UG if i dont have premium
