Pr updated but no. og backlinks decreased

I have analyzed that, after Google Pr updation no. of backlinks for my sites are decreased like from 20 BL to 4, from 12 BL to 0.
Why is so any guess?

 

Did your site start getting less visitors or did your website's main keyword position falls in Google Search ? If yes try getting more quality back links. and if not then there is no need to worry but getting quality links will surly help.

 

After this PR update, link: operator is giving very less results. This is not only the case with your site. I have seen it for tons of sites. Google though showing them in webmaster but removed them from link: result

 

Maybe the webmasters who were linking to your site before the update have now removed their links?

 

Google change number of BL displayed all the time. You can see most of the BL in Yahoo.

 

Another accurate tool for checking the backlinks is: www.backlinkwatch.com The obvious reason your backlinks 'went away' is the fact that they got deleted from the site they were originally on.

 

Backlink watch is a good tool - but shows you many links from same domain (e.g if link is sitewide)

 

sunil_gupta20801 is right. It is the link: function in google that shows very less backlinks. Webmaster tools still show all the links so everything should be all right. Just keep on working on building backlinks up and everything will work out.

 

One reason why your backlinks decreases is maybe you didnt promote your site. Gather more backlinks again so that your site pr also will increase.

 

Backlinks of my sites are decreased but my keyword are in same position.

I am getting googd backlinks from good sites but when i am searching it in google BL checker it shows only 4??????

 

Google doesnt show the real n: of backlinks . not like Yahoo and Altavista ..
it happened alot to some of my sites

 

You just need to build some quality strong backlinks again thats all .
