Thanks much, I appreciate the offer and will PM you if need be :)

    Update:

Today he had the articles reviewed that were submitted last Friday. We were kind of surprised that they weren't reviewed sometime yesterday but it's all good. Out of the 10 articles he had reviewed today, 9 were accepted and one was rejected because AC felt that the title "wasn't searchable enough" in the search engines. The keyword phrase that this particular article was based on was a bit too broad. AC gave him the option of changing the title and resubmitting it, so he did that tonight.

All in all, so far so good. He's staying really motivated and we are more than proud of him.

Thanks again for all of your input everyone!

    Regards,

Great post! I've considered this with my 17yr old. Spends quite a bit of time on bebo and other similar sites.

it will be a good experience for him , and he will learn the value of a dollar ( or whatever currency you have ) as he earns it , you can't learn the true value of money if you are being given it constantly , once you earn money you perspective about it completely changes

    Thanks you guys,

He's really been excited about the whole thing. We can already see where he's taking more responsibility for himself, not only with working online, but even when it comes to doing chores around the house etc. Because we've put trust in him and have treated him more like an adult, he seems to be acting more like one.

It's pretty awesome to see :)

    Here's the latest update:

Over the last three days he's submitted a total of 24 articles. So far his earnings since Monday are just over $154 and counting. Based on how much he made last week and what kind of offers he's been getting, he should be able to earn about $15 more this week, than he did last week.

lol pretty soon we'll have HIM making the mortgage payments ;)

Seriously though, we've been really proud of him. We've agreed that the portion of his earnings that we put in savings will pay for his first car when he turns 16.

    Regards,

    Duc

I think you should allow him and help him this way he will get more knowledge and who knows when he becomes of your age he may be one of the best webmasters around???..

EDIT: Great that he is earning money now. Just guide him and let him work as he want. If he is really interested in working online then im sure he will find somethng good very soon.

I started doing web related things when I was about 13 and made my first sale the same year - $600. It was a lot of money for me then, and since then I've been kitting my room out with things that every teenager would want such as a projector, electric drum kit, 30" PC monitor & gaming PC, iPhone. All funded by myself through online money making ( almost all through DP )

However, right now I'm coming up to the exam period in my life and it's quickly catching up with me. Whilst I would love to persue a career in the digital world, my parents have different ideas. As a result although I was a very bright student in my younger years, my results in other subjects are deteriorating.

My advice on your question is to allow it, but when it comes to it then make sure education comes before any money making because it will very quickly get in the way. Anyway, I have an English exam to revise for :).
