Why do I keep getting infractions?

    Hello everyone,

I have posted my web-hosting offer on these forums. I post my offer once a week in the Web Hosting forum. But for some reason I have got infractions for both of these posts because they were in the wrong forum? When I click on view original post it shows it in the freebies forum, when i know I posted it in the Web Hosting forum under services.

Can someone explain to me what forum I should be posting my web-hosting offer in? If I should that is?

Lastly may I ask what the prefix's are for on the web-hosting forum? Maybe this is why I am getting infractions? I did not join this forum to spam or post my offers in the wrong forum. I’m a little confused why my post is showing in the freebies forum when I posted it in the web-hosting forum.

    Thanks for any help.

Duplicate threads are not allowed. If you are posting once a week, you are subject to a duplicate thread infraction. Furthermore if any of your hosting packages costs five dollars or below, thread belongs in freebies.

I suggest you review the posting guidelines found in the FAQ.

    Prefixes include:

    WTS - want to sell
    WTH - want to hire
    WTT - want to trade
    etc.

Generally in the Web Hosting area, I would expect to find WTS and WTB prefixes for the most part.

    • Freebie Offers - Sales threads with a value of $5 (five dollars) or less belong in the Freebies forum. Posting $5.01 will not change our perception of the value. Clearly specify the value of your product or service in your title to avoid confusion (ie. "$5 per month--minimum two months", "$5 per year", "$5 permanent").
If we see a title that says "$2 Web Hosting", we will consider it to be a freebie, and move it to the Freebies forum. Moderators don't have the time to screen every thread and calculate total prices.

Ok thank you for the information.

I admit I should have read the rules before posting. But that seems a bit stupid to me. I don't even know what to say, that makes no logical sense. It's either free or it's not.

The logic. If something costs $0.01 it's not free. I don't even know what to say to be honest.

It is the way how rules are made. You need to obey it to stay in here. 5$ is not considered to be a huge deal and so I suppose they want those type of threads in freebies.

Nothing to argue about, it is a rule and you follow it to live here.

Why not have a "budget forum" or "under $5"..........

Background: Scammers were building up itrader by selling very cheap items, and then running expensive spams based on their itrader. For this reason, sales of goods and services of five dollars or under, is not eligible for itrader.

Ok but that still doesn't have anything to do with why anything under $5 is considered a "freebies"

It ruins it for us cheap web hosts because anyone looking for web hosting will go to the "web hosting" forum not "freebies"

    Madness.

Pretty childish giving me an infraction considering this post was sarcasm as well.

I guess I’m going to have to bite my tongue and post in the freebies section..

Please can a mod delete/close this post.

    Thanks

You assume too much (for example that I gave you an infraction... ever).

Although the chances are high, I never said you did. The post was aimed at who ever gave me the infraction.

Now I’m going to stop replying to this thread because every post it hurting my business's good reputation. I shall post my offers in the freebies section from now on.

I'm not sure what you're moaning about to be honest. Even if you were allowed to post your topic in Web Hosting, it would drop down to Page #2 in a day or two anyway. Also when you consider the system doesn't bump replies in BST and the fact you can't make duplicate threads, you'd end up promoting your topic in your sig regardless of where it was originally posted.

As for the infraction, big deal. It's hardly anything to cry about is it? You're not banned are you?
