Yeah only the cute fox doesn't resemble the Firefox but the rest of them look alike Firefox logo. There's still time so someone will eventually come out with good design.
wait, maybe i got it all wrong... i thought the site *is* about firefox, and because of that it needs to have the firefox logo with some changes. nasium, is the site about firefox, or you just liked the firefox logo and wanted something similar?
of course! in my opinion, if the site is about firefox, the logo needs to be a variation of the original logo without too many changes, don't you agree with me?
You cannot reuse firefox' design and modify it. Even though you have slightly different look you are still stealing their concept there is serious legal stuff to consider there. You have to start from scratch basically... If your fox resembles theirs I'm pretty sure you'll hear from them lol.
CH ahsked for something described as the firefox logo modified(in my perceptio). the second post is made from scratch. at the first one, as tusha, i was a little confused. so do not worry because if we want to steal logos we won't do it in a such blazing manner. cheers!
i not really familiar about legal issues, but it sounds ok for me to use a modified logo for a site that is about the company that owns that logo - if you don't claim you made that logo and you write that the logo rights belong to mozilla firefox company. and also, nasium has particully asked for a logo with a circle and a fox in it. even if i'll create a logo from scratch, it'll still resemble to firefox's one and "steal" the idea from them. from my way of view, if the site is not about firefox - it's theft. if it is about firefox and supports firefox, and the owner does'nt claim to have rights on that logo - then it's ok. he just use's the logo to support the company itself and to present it. the modification is just to attribute the logo with something, like todays google's cookie monster (check it out, it's awsome!) anyway, i'll send a mail for firefox and ask them. if they do not accept it, i guess nasium needs to think about a whole new different concept for the logo. and nasium man, you really need to tell us what have you ment. is the site about firefox? i really need an answer.
