How often do you check the Adsense TOC's? I have seen several posts in the past few days with people talking about CTR %'s of which you shouldn't do according to the TOC's. So who reads the TOC's at least once a month? Another example is a privacy policy of which you should have one clearly displayed on each site with adsense on. Would such things explain some people getting banned for seemingly no reason? Your thoughts Ladies and Gentlemen. Dickie
thanks, it is one of the reason people got banned, and they don't know the reason, actually they may be disclosing some information that google restricts
If you read enough of the posts from people claiming to have been banned by Adsense for "no reason" it becomes pretty clear that most of them either haven't read the Terms and Conditions and Program Policies or have decided that the terms don't really apply to them. Take, for example, the Privacy Policy. It's been a requirement for Adsense publishers for well over a year. When Google required an update of the Privacy Policy so that it included the DART cookie information with a deadline of April 8 2009, many people ignored that change. That's even though Google sent out an Email noting the changed requirement in March, and put a notice (with link) at the top of the Adsense report page. Another good example is the requirement that you not disclose Google's "confidential information" (including click through rates), which has been in the Terms and Conditions for years. When Google has changed the Terms in recent times, they put up a notice when you log into your account that you have to click through. There is no excuse for not having read them. Some people who break the Adsense rules, do so knowingly but assume they won't get into trouble because they see other people doing the same thing. That's a pretty bad assumption. And it boggles my mind, but there are people who complain about being banned while admitting that they (or their friends) intentionally clicked on the ads. So yes, I do think it explains the vast majority of the "no reason" bans. Really, in what way? The Terms and Conditions say that Google can terminate your account for any reason it chooses. They are under no obligation to give you any explanation for your termination. That being said, most people who complain about their accounts being disabled are clearly breaking the rules.
