I think that's the key to using Stumble Upon or any of the social bookmark-type sites correctly. You don't want to submit a bunch of crap pages because all you'll get are one-time visitors who probably won't click any ads. You want to give them a good reason to look around your site, bookmark it, maybe even buy something on a later visit.
Hmm.. I have a question... 3 of my sites show "Lots of Activity" and one of them shows "Tons of Activity"... How many guys are getting "Tons"?
I have submited yesterday on page from wearefunny.com and right now it's #1 on http://buzz.stumbleupon.com with over 475 votes, geting Bucket-loads of activity
You install the Stumbleupon toolbar ... and give a thumbs up and a review for that page. Download it at http://stumbleupon.com
I've noticed that when other people stumble upon my pages, good things happen: I keep getting traffic from that link for months. Not bad And it's a gaming site, too.
Thank you gemini181. I have notice that I have received about 3000 unique visitators from SU but they didn't visited other pages from my website, even if they liked the page, because I had over 2500 votes.
All of you should be cautious when you are using SU. Coz, as of now, everyone is considering it as a golden goose. Let it lay one golden egg a day. I mean, don't spam it. Only submit what users will really find great. That will be good for all - the webmaster, SU.com and the user. If all webmasters start spamming it, it will only encourage SU.com to make things more stringent and difficult.
Padme... I was reading your post and went to your Blog... very informative... clicked on the link and signed the Petition. Thanks for the info. I will now get back on topic and check out SU.... Any site view has to have some type of value and 1,000's must be even better?
SU is like many other social bookmarking sites, if you get a reputation for posting crappy links people will stop looking at your suggestions. To the poster (crizatu) that said stumblers only looked at the one page and not others, don't worry they probably bookmarked it or will come back another time and look around more. Once you click the thumbs up it stores it on your SU page and you can find it easily again. SU is a great site and I have been using it since Oct. 2005 - More stumblers = more traffic and promotion for all of us.
You can get in trouble with google adsense for this: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=125669&highlight=stumbleupon
Why would adsense not let you get traffic from stumbleupon? They can see all the seperate IP's and there will be no problem at all.
DON'T CLICK YOUR OWN ADS and you'll have nothing to worry about. I don't understand why so many webmasters fear Google. StumbleUpon should be embraced.
