Hello Where do I go to from where I'm at now. Site is 6 months old. I'm sure it could be massively prettier but I have been concentrating on content and I have no idea about design. It has 320 pages of content in Main area. It has some of the best/fully researched information available on dog breeds. The top 40 (most popular) dogs anyway. It has a unique, created from scratch pet directory linking back to the dog breed information pages. With 9000 links of personally approved websites. It has Amazon Astores attached. It has 45 articles in the directory side of things. It's rating in the Top 10 for Pet Directory, and Pet Supplies has just made it there. Dog Breeds has moved up from nowhere to 31. It rates in the Top 10 for 90 other obscure searches. But it only gets 20 - 40 visitors a day and a great proportion of those are not what I would call quality visitors who would pay for something or click on a link. What do I do now? - Thanks http://www.woofahs.com
hey boblord - its a tricky one, i can see a few problems that might cause you problems with your visitors but nothing too serious, mostly cosmetic. From what you say its clear you're getting the ranking for some of your keywords - perhaps you just need to do some more niche promotion. Certainly more ways for you to monetize the website I think. Good job though, looks like you've put some real work into it!
Thanks. A lot of work alright. And I understand what you say about the navigation. At times it can be tricky, but I think most visitors don't surf around the site, rather they come for information and leave. A Staffy fan, for instance won't check out the Italian Spinone Google updated my backlinks today and they went from 666 to 2102. Hopefully my PR will rise a little now too.
i don't think you are getting 20 - 40 visitors per day, from where you can monitoring your website? its PR2, so must be having many visitors per day. well sorry to day I'm not satisfied with your design actually, feels like there is no designation work. Try to design something unique and include more cute pictures of pets. Brown color seems to be not effective that much, use blue, or white or any pet color, that gives better combination of colors. redesign your website.. definitely your you will get more visitors when your website more eyecatching.
Thanks What pet is blue? I did explain that I was concentrating on content. I don't think people come to the site just to see if it is pretty, they come for information. Visitor details comes from Google.
The site is more informative and learned some new things about maintaining the dogs but the template and layout looks very simple and old and color schemes are not much impressive.
