Hi, I want to know how many paid/sponsored posts wont affect the rankings of a blog. Like for ex. I run a celeb blog and manage to get around 2-3 paid posts per week (with one link in each). Will this number affect my blogs Google ranking ? Any suggestion will be appreciated.
its hard to say how many but if you make 2-3 paid posts per week and if each post have 2-3 external links, then pretty soon your blog will look like a link farm. and you know google hates link farms
Thanks for the reply. How do you (and Google) differentiate between sponsored post and a normal blog post ? I mean even the normal blog post a link like, when i write about a wordpress plugin, i give a link to the download page or when i write about the new itunes version, i give a link to the download page. So, you mean even though i dont write paid posts, still my blog will turn into link farm ? I hope you undertand what i am trying to convey.... And please bear with my question as i am new to this.
usually there is no way to tell. however, some people go overboard which causes issues. i have seen blogs with paid posts where blog is about one topic and pretty much paid posts from all topics are being posted with external links. having a acai berry article with links on a gadget blog is not normal. if you post related articles and link to external sites, then there should not be any issues since the posts will be within same neighborhood. then again, as long as you do it responsibly. make sure you dont have any reference to link sell or buy blogposts on the site
Thanks for your views. But only niche related paid posts are SEO boosters. There is no point in writing a tech post on penis enlargement blog. Point taken. The case you mentioned is an extreme one. Ppl doing that are making money and not blogging. And am not one of those.
Just make sure you stop at a certain point of paid links since 2/3 weekly will soon create a link farm in your site. With creating a link from the article of the same niche, I think its fine, wouldn't hurt your site.
