Great changes Shawn! Will help in better sales now! Although, I would want some kind of a "clarity" on the guidelines on when we can list a particular domain name for sale again? This is because suppose I have a domain that doesnt get any bids and the thread gets automatically closed, then I am sorta stuck. I cant create the listing again, nor can hope that magically that thread will again come back to the front pages.) Probably a "relisting" charge? or allow creating of new threads once the old thread is closed or some specified interval after that? )
The charm of itraders is, if you give a fake negative itrader you get banned or get one back Can't Speak for everyone but I don't fancy that. But what you are so naively suggesting can be used to sabotage threads by competitors or lunatics who experience special pleasure on harming threads on purpose just because they are not successful in life :/
Moderators do not involve themselves with MP user disputes (including fake iTraders), so whoever are leaving fake ones are not & were not banned for that reason. The charm (like you say), however, with thread reviews is that fake reviews can actually be reported, just like every other post in the forum. So if the questionable poster would rather risk his user account getting banned by leaving fake negative reviews just for the sake of competition, he will eventually realize soon enough that it was so not worth it. Instead of losing the competition, he will most likely lose his business here. Once everyone understands this, I doubt anyone would be too eager to abuse the system. They just have to have a better product in order to compete.
If we can verify they're fake (not just because someone claims they didn't take part in a deal, but situations where they create other accounts to keep leaving more, or repeatedly leave iTrader for someone in a short period of time, etc.), they do indeed get banned -- and a rather long ban at that.
A couple things added to the marketplace... If a sale has ended or is sold prior to the official end time, the threads are pushed to the bottom of the page they are on and greyed out a bit. If you are selling something (a WTS thread) and it has been sold, you can mark your thread as being sold (when you look at the thread, the upper right of the "Marketplace Data" area you will have a link to do it).
No, sorry... but if there's something you want to hide from search engines (keywords, domains, etc.), use the [obf] BBCode tag for those keywords.
I thought so. But since they remained on the same page I got confused. Don't you think that if somethings not going to be unsold it should be pushed to the bottom of the forum so it can free up slots on the first few pages?
Why's there a 14 day Gap before Auto-closing thread? Now people would rather report their thread and have it closed in a couple of hours than wait 14 days.
Ya but don't mods close it in a few hours if you ask them (I had mine done in an hour)? In the end people will get it closed. It'll just burden the mods. Whoever wants to comment can request it to be reopened as always.
At some point requesting they be closed will no longer be available. Right now you can already tag your WTS as being sold on your own.
Okay we should be live with the bidding system now... Hopefully there aren't too many quirks with it at this point. You should have additional options when you tag a thread as WTS during the thread creation process.
Added a "Buy It Now" button for auctions with a BIN price. That will win the auction and close the auction so no other bids can be made.
Can the auction holder reject a BIN to have it re-opened based on the original terms? I'm just wondering if there's a way to protect against someone going around maliciously forcing their competitors' auctions to close automatically.
