Facebook Style Link Sharing for all URLs, PHP Scripts out there?

Does anyone know of any PHP scripts that do Facebook style link scraping/sharing? I'm talking about when you paste a link to share and it automatically scrapes the page for a Title, Description and Thumbnails... Would be nice if the script works for videos too. Let me know!

When someone clicks on the your little "share" icon.

• Clicks on link
• Opens a popup window that is an extension of your site
• This popup uses php to fetch the url
• With this url, PHP fetches the title.

If the site has an RSS feed, this makes it easier for you to fetch the title, text, etc. via PHP.

 

Right I understand how the code works.. I'm wondering if anyone has built something like this already, specifically with thumbnail image extraction as well.
