Does changing the title of your website hurt your google ranking if its brand new. It was created October 27th 09. I had the title as: Welcome to InsuranceAround.com. Then i thought about it and felt like it was hurting me in google ranks. I decided to change it today to: Insurance Around - Welcome.

I know changing the title in sites can move you back in rank on google but how about for such a new site?

It may fluctuate in ranking first.

There shouldn't be any major change in the rankings.

It might hurt your rankings if it's an OLD site.

No I don’t think so, but with a better title you might improve your position

If you change your sites Title, template or even meta description you will see a small SERP change. Give it some time and everything will return to a normal state.

It'll take a few days/weeks for google to properly register the change but yes it will hurt your SERP if the new title is not relevant to the domain. If the new title is more relevant then it can only improve ranking.

Well, title is one of the most important factor in SEO. So if you change it, is very possibly to see changes (bad or good).
