I have just established my article/news blog: http://www.abstroose.com (It is still under development so there is currently no content) The blog covers various diverse topics, including Sports, Science, Religion... How can I effeciently maximize the off-page SEO for my blog? Would it be more effective to build backlinks for all related keywords to the homepage? IE: sports news, science articles, religion articles > abstroose.com Or, would it be more effective to to build backlinks targeting the relevant catgeory of my blog? IE: sports news > abstroose.com/sports science articles > abstroose.com/science religion articles > abstroose.com/religion
I'd create categories for the different niches, publish every article in uncategorized (main page with set to 5 - 10 articles max. so they disappear from main page after a few days, depending on your post frequency) and store it in the category that applies. Then do off page seo/link building with about 30% to the main page, 30% sharing between categories first page and the rest directly between article pages. sports news > abstroose.com/ > abstroose.com/sports > abstroose.com/sports/article
Because its got no content, you shouldn't be thinking about off page at the moment. You are thinking back to front just now.
No problem , which niche you are, just have more back links through off page optimization. Especially try to have links from the niche related to you.

As I previously mentioned, it is still under development so there is currently no content. I have 30+ unique articles ready to publish, and a writer whom will produce a further 20 articles a month. I posted this thread for future reference, so I can begin my SEO plan.
Do you keywords research first before adding content and use those keywords in post title, urls, headings and content as well. Don't forget to install All in One SEO plugin to add unique titles to posts, categories as well as description. Don't forget to add "no follow" attribute to categories ( to avoid duplicate content issues )
Any more tips on this? I'm not new to SEO, but I need other's advice. I currently have the following dilemma: Do I concentrate on building deeplinks with relevant anchor text to each category? IE 10 backlinks to /Sports, 10 backlinks to /Music. Or do I just build all backlinks to the homepage regardless of the anchor text and topic? IE 100 diverse backlinks all pointing to the homepage?
