Thanks for the feedback, but please can someone explain why they would give us these variables: <script type="text/javascript"> var googleSearchIframeName = 'googleSearchUnitIframe'; var googleSearchFrameWidth = 650; var googleSearchFrameHeight = 530; var googleSearchFrameborder = 0 ; </script> Because they know it's different strokes for different folks. I have to "manipulate" these to make the pages fit in IE and FireFox. Otherwise they look crappy. They could have left the above in the JavaScript file which you are definitely not allowed to manipulate. That's against the TOS. I have been "manipulating" all of these variables for 18 months or longer and have had no problems. After all these variables are there for you to be able to fit their ads on your page else they would not give them to you. Or am I missing something here? If they don't want us to use them then they should move them into the JS file. I'm sure you are allowed to at least modify these? I've read the TOS and I know what it says. If I can't make my pages look "nice" then they can shove it. It's not worth the few cents per click. Another thing that bugs me is that you can't open clicks on their ads in another tab or window .. that stinks. For a few cents I have to give up my clients to someone else? NO WAY. What kind of business is that. Isn't it enough that I gave them a lead in the first place? By the way here are the hidden variables you may use with my permission: var googleSearchDomain = "www.google.co.za"; var googleNumSearchResults = 3; // can only be set from 1 to 20 var googleSearchNumAds = 1; // from 1 to 10 Check out my page at: http://www.kwathabeng.co.za/xml/search2.html
Only Google can answer that for you with any authority. Any answer we give you wouldn't mean much. I'm sure G would respond to your question with a definitive answer if you write to them.
I checked ur example... i find that u have some default text filled in the search box. The last time i checked that was not allowed. So please check again .. why get banned for a few extra dollars. Nice example.. thanks for the extra code
wow, that's pretty cool. Is the google adsense skyscraper on the right side of your search results page attached to your adsense account? p.s. when i try to use your search box the search the web it won't let me. the tick box automatically reverts back to only searching your site on the search results page. why is that?
That's definitely not allowed. You can't prepopulate the search box with a search term. Just think how people would abuse this especially with those supposed "high paying keyword lists".
