Is some traffic types worth more than others? Somebody told me that 25 to 50 dollars a mo was a good price for a music lesson site with 200 - 250 (US, UK traffic) UV a day. However, I have seen sites with much more traffic charging less for ads. How much is quality traffic worth to somebody selling guitars? On the other hand, how much is traffic worth to somebody who wants to buy an ad on a warez, game or download (of some sort) site?
Yes, definitely. American visitors looking to buy viagra and hire lawyers are worth exactly the same amount as Chinese teenagers looking for porn. It's impossible to place exact values on traffic...but clearly one visitor can be worth 100 times as much as a different visitor. It depends completely on how much revenue that visitor generates.
Why do these people charge such low rates for ads? The people who get 100,000 page views a mo and charge 10 dollars a mo (extreme example). So I guess this (100,000 page view) traffic is worth the price given. Does everyone agree? You must have visited one of those racial nationalist / ethnic forums.
Probably because the traffic doesn't convert and is therefore (basically) worthless. Or the traffic is fake (bots) to begin with. Buying ads on a really cheap website like that isn't usually a good idea.
End of the day all comes down to how much money you made. So traffic that converts more should be more valuable. A good businessman couldn't miss it.
