    My main notebook
    Pentium dual core 1.83 ghz
    15.4 Inch UltraSharp TrueLife Wide-screen WSXGA+,
    1GB, DDR2, 533MHz 2
256MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON X1400 HyperMemory
    60GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
    8X DVD+/-RW Drive
and tons of other crap, after a huge rebate and sale it still cost me over $1,700 according to my invoice but it works better as a paper weight ATM :( the other notebook I bought from Dell at the same time for 1/2 the price is working MUCH better.

I've been thinking about upgrading mine lately, it's getting a little outdated.

    Dell Dimension 9150

    3.2ghz dual core
    2GB ram
    256mb nVidia 7900GS
    320GB HD

That's my baby... I thought it was the best thing around when I bought it. One month later and it already seems slow compared to others. Technology needs to slow down. :p

we should agree to the definiton of "best computer" first:
not the bigges maschine wins, the computer with most free resources does:

idle time 96%, free ram 80%, free disk space 40% - and i have 3 different programms and 34 processes running right now.
see, i dont need more than 550MHz off my 1.6GHz Centrino notebook. where is my prize? :)

i think for the "Best Computer" you need to add in a style factor. My friend built his computer in a suit case.. and thats just cool. If your is just a shitty case on the ground then how can u have the best computer? performance isnt everything.

Look at classic cars, you dont buy them because they can beat new cars in performance you buy them for the look :) maybe one day we the computer geeks will be buying classic cases for the turbo button

I would disagree with you there, yes looks are fairly important, nobody wants to look at something that is not pleasant to the eye, however I look at all those fancy pc cases that have been modded, like you say your friend has suitcase, ive seen real aquariums, etc etc They to me are not pleasant, but stupid looking :)

Classic cars is a completely different thing. I would rather have a great pc required for all things I do on a pc cellotaped together in a shoe box, than one that didnt do what I needed but " looked amazing ".

When it comes to a pc performance is #1, looks come 2nd.

Its actually the computer my dad has :) So you win. My desktop is not as good as that, I use my loyal toughbook for just about everything I do.
