I have used this online service two years ago or so and have since forgotten what its called. Basically what you had to do is to insert a code into your page and it told you for which keywords someone entered your page and what your position for that keyword is on google. It's quite different than analytics or webmaster tools in this matter. Does anyone know the name of it?
Lol, yes. HitTail reveals in real-time the least utilized, most promising keywords hidden in the Long Tail of your natural search results. We present these terms to you as writing suggestions that, when used as the topic of new site content or blog posts, can boost the natural search results of your site. It's that simple. Most Web tools today isolate you from the data you need to improve your website from a natural-search point-of-view. Built with sophisticated algorithms and patent-pending technology, HitTail zeros in on that data, showing you every search hit that has led to your site and then extracts the underperforming keywords. These keywords are displayed as suggestions for writing topics. There's a 60 day free trial, after that its only $9.95 per month. Don't be afraid to invest a little in your business improvement.
thats sounds great, however there is a similar free alternative if anyone wants it. phpstats is a tracking script that you add to the html of your site and it does exactly the same thing if used correctly, you can see each and every long tail or any keyword used, along with the other features you mentioned. the only downside is that it does need to be hosted on your server so some php configuration will be needed
