Why are Google SERPs so erratic?

My positioning in the SERPs changes from day to day, sometimes multiple times in the same day. The change is in the range of 50 ranking places. One day I am in the middle of page two (16-18th position), next it can be as low as the bottom of page six (58th position), and on and on. Up and down like a yo-yo with no stability.

Why is this?

 

One of my site toggle in between top 2 to 5 in the SERP .
Seems Google has become very dynamic.

 

If your website is new (less than a year old) such fluctuations can be considered normal. It takes time to stablish a site and have some stable rankings.

 

A lot of people have reported building their website with erratic code from 1992, Google doesn't know anything about that and so they offer up several suggestions below the result in Google Serps.

 

How old is your site?

 

My webmaster forum changes serp rank hourly for the keyword "webmaster forum".

 

google is an organic entity and changes daily to reflect link building efforts of site owners. Rarely do people stay at the top of serps unless they are a house hold name

 

Maybe I should start buying older domains as my sites jump around like crazy.

 

The site is nearly two years old.

However, guess it's normal.. as one of my websites which am trying to build backlinks for so hardly is currently bouncing up and down the ranking..

So, i think this could be the same thing.. like 'link valuating' based on many data centers.

I am Facing same problem here, what is the main Reason behind this,

1 time site show in 13 position but now it jums to 21 position,

as same second keywords come in 40 position but now it is in 90 position

Nah. Again this fluctuates like the wind. Google reports anything between 1 and 20 backlinks. Yahoo reports anything from 1200 to 1600. Not sure that matters much... anyone else want to have a guess?

 

Firstly if you had changed something in your site, you must mention here and if not that's not good idea.
Because the competition is tough and there is need of positive updations at a regular interval.

So make your site more search engine friendly via using rich and relevant keywords and fresh content.

 

I think Specified fluctuations can be advised median. It takes term to stablish a situation and score few stable rankings.

 

i think another site has the same fluctuation and it is depending on the popularity

This has never happened to me; my SERP ranks for my personal blog are usually stable.
