When I see hiya, or hay, I know spam. My friends do not speak like that. If I don't know sender or if title does not sound highly meaningful to me I immediately hit report as spam and never open.
windows live mail in windows vista has a pretty decent spam filter. I've been using that for a few weeks with good results.
With filters catching more and more of their crap, they're not getting smarter, they're getting more desperate ... most reputable mail services are still capturing them as spam.
i have one gmail address that i used to submit articles to article directories.. so I haven't checked it for months.. and today i logged in and found 50K messages! so during the following 3 weeks I'll be reading them
Not at all, you can get on spam mail lists simply by sending email out to someone who then gets their computer compromised. This is easy to do when you mail a lot of people.
I use gmail and usually I don't see any spam. But yesterday i got this really weird mail With the subject: "Re:Hello Mate" Now who wouldn't have read it. I thought it was a reply from someone to my own mail. It turned out to be a viagra selling company's mail though
