Help Monetizing a (semi-)Download Site

    Hey all,

I was wondering if any of you might have any ideas on how to monetize http://office2010download.com/?

The site receives approximately 200 uniques per day and thus far I have experimented with Adsense (failure as most techy people are not very click-happy) and Adscend/CPALead content gateways.

The latter hasn't worked well because most of the traffic comes from India and some European countries and there's not many surveys available for those markets - the one that's been getting the vast majority of clicks since I integrated the gateway has been a "free lottery" offer (likely because this is one of few offers available worldwide) but this one converts very-very badly (less than 0.5%).

    Any ideas/thoughts are very welcome.

    Thanks a bunch,
    Bryan

    Wow. Really? I wouldn't have guessed ....

On a bit more serious note, please stop posting junk in other peoples' threads to spam them with your site's address. And if you're going to spam then at least learn how to submit links as links, not as text, lol.

Btw. I'd be really surprised if your site's visitor count went up as much as by 5 visits because of your post - and it certainly didn't help you get indexed or gain a backlink ...

Maybe you can add some other incentives to your website to get more conversion. As to the detail, you'd better think it over carefully. How to increase the conversion among limited customers really matters.

Thanks for the suggestion but that's quite tricky. See, the site has one primary purpose - helping people to download Office 2010. And I'm safe to say that at least 80% of its visitors are looking for this exact info, which I provide them with. I'm frankly a bit puzzled as to which further incentives may I possibly add.

On another note, the sites' SERPs have jumped a little higher and I'm now getting around 500 uniques a day, including traffic from 'decent' countries such as US / UK.

I've also changed the theme to a more professional-looking one (the initial theme was made for Adsense and didn't help me much in converting CPA offers. Since then, both the number of clicks and conversion have increased but I'm still nowhere near satisfied (the Indian bit of the traffic doesn't bring me in almost anything) so any further suggestions still welcome :)

No way on earth am I going to do that, lol.

By saying the site is not performing well, I mean that it currently earns apprx. $2 per 250 visitors whereas it could earn a lot more. Wanna show me a CPM company that pays me $8++ per 1000 visits?

Sell it. You should get around $100. That's monetizing too. ;)

Around $100? Wow. Really? Damn, I think I have to go and sell it right away or otherwise the price might drop to $98!!

Clearly you have little to no knowledge regarding website sales or general business what so ever - or you're simply too ignorant to read the thread before posting your reply.

In my previous post, I mentioned that the site currently produces around $2 per 250 visitors. A few posts ago I mentioned that the site gets around 500 visitors per day. 2x2x30 = $120 monthly net income.

Now - do you have any sites that you want to sell for less than they make you per month? I'LL BUY!! NOW! No questions asked, just bring 'em to the table and I'll buy them all. Really.

On a little more serious note, I've actually considered selling the site (not now, however, as the current value of the site lyes at around $1,000 but I'm confident that over the next few quarters the traffic keeps increasing, and hopefully I'll also manage to boost up the conversions).
