As another example, I can pretty much prove that going back 600 years or so, we're all related within 30th cousins of each other, give or take (yes, that's right, you did sleep with your cousin). For most people it's a much closer relation than that.

So, if they were to say, base it even on something like only family members of terrorists, then not say how closely related, then they could pretty much justify spying on everyone on the planet.

Why do I find your comment a bit odd?

    Mine?

It has to do with exponential growth of ancestors going backwards and overall gene pool size. Or was it the cousin thing that threw you? :p

So you think all investigations should start AFTER they blow up something?

One does have to wonder, if a person who openly supports terrorists, defends their actions, makes excuses for what they do, blames America first always, is the first to say a terrorist is innocent until proven guilty while being the first to pronounce guilt on a soldier based on an allegation only, and admitted he would sell his country out, actually cares about the Constitution when the only time they ever reference or mention it is when it's used to benefit terrorists.

    Food for thought...

That's a valid concern, not a call to fear.

When everything is kept secret how can you make any judgement if its being handled correctly or not? We can't just "trust" the government, we have to be suspicious at all times.

You may have nothing hide, but I happen to value my privacy.

    http://articles.news.aol.com/news/_a/911-detainee-released-after-nearly-five/20060813164009990001

2 years? Try 5 years for this guy. How many more are there that we don't know about?

I find it hilarious that some of you still believe one politician is any better than the others. Democrat or republican... the person who wins is bought and paid for. It makes no difference until a large change takes place in our government.

I know, I'm just messing with you. I like using liberal comments to people that use 'liberal arguements' and conservative comments to 'conservative arguements'. It's funny how they both fit at times.

Secrets are necessary to some level...you do understand that? I'm guessing it's just the level they take it to that concerns you.

I do as well, but I have no reason to believe they're spying on me or anyone just as harmless.

I think it may have been him...not quite sure. I don't think imprisonment can be kept a secret...but what do I know!?

Some of them are genuine...but more or less those people are usually lower down the food chain than the common Senator or house rep.

You ever think of ways to change things? I do, and I have my own theories...but I'll keep that to myself till fruitation.

That's not the way I see it at all. And my first post was spot on, eh?

Just following the news conference now. Here are a few quick notes I took:

very effective, communicated with Congress and American people. Program is lawful, reviewed by a number of lawyers at Justice Department and NSA.

Reviewed periodically to be sure it remains lawful.

Have appealed the decision, a stay is in place.

    ------------------

So in essence, what you assert does not mesh at all with the facts. The ACLU knew exactly what they were doing to make America weaker and sought out a specific judge to rule on their side to make America weaker. A stay is in place, this program is aimed at terrorists, it has Congressional oversight and it was used by previous administrations.

Don't look for it to stick.

Chalk up another victory to the terrorist loving,
    American hating, liberal loving ACLU.

What's odd is that it's a normal federal judge...where it would have been a bit harder to argue points that need to held secretively...I wonder if there's a judge/system that can like FiSA review arguements without revealing too much of that stuff (to the public), and gives a much more objective arguement to the situation?

Not according to today's ruling. I know it hurts every time one of their illegal programs gets busted, but don't worry - i'm sure they're still encroaching on plenty of innocent people's lives - so you can cheer up. ;)

I must say the the ACLU seem overtly liberal in nature....

Aren't they funded by George Soros?

Today's ruling already has a stay and is already being appealed. So, they keep right on monitoring domestic to international calls of suspected terrorists. Not much of a victory and I do not think it will stick.

Seeing that the program is targeted towards monitoring terrorists, I can see why you would be happy, but it ain't over yet ;)

Wishful thinking yo! Despite your continued efforts to preach a message of harm towards your own country, it's not going to stick.

Speaking of terrorist friends celebrating a premature victory, Hell froze over today in Hollywood:

It seems like everyone but a few, like yo-yo, want to stop terrorists.
