Selling High Traffic Site ... 170,000+ visitors, 790,000+ page views monthly

LargeImageHost.com is an established image hosting site on the second page of google for the search result "free image hosting" out of 571,000,000 search results.

Income is minimal since we use the site primarily to promote other sites we own. (adsense page views are only 5-6000 per day since they are not on the image display pages and generate $100+ per month.)

Traffic could be sold from banners, pop unders etc. on the image display pages (20,000 page views daily, 600,000+ page views monthly) for additional income.

Traffic is growing monthly since we blocked all Chinese traffic due to a DDOS attack coming from China that slowed the server down. Since we blocked the Chinese traffic, the site traffic is growing steadily. We expect the monthly page views to reach 1,000,000+ by spring of 2010.

The site was once in the Alexa top 20,000 but due to the DDOS attack the Alexa dropped to approx. the 40,000 range. It is now starting to recover without any traffic being directed to it except from images served on other sites that people upload.

There are over 3,000,000+ images hosted on LIH.

The script was custom made by the previous owner and I will give you his contact information in the event you would like to contact him after the sale.

We are looking for a quick sale and will consider offers close to the BIN of $7500.

You will have to transfer the site to your own server or I can see if the current host would transfer the lease.

We have server stats/logs turned off on the server since they grow too fast and slow it down. We do have Google analytics on the pages so can send screen shots if you are seriously interested.

1.) How much does it cost to host this site? (bandwidth, storage etc.)
2.) Is it currently on VPS? Do you need a dedicated server?
3.) How many users are currently registered with the site?
4.) How many human hours are needed to maintain the site?

If your getting $100 per month your not going to get as high as $7000 for the site

Given the significant amount of traffic, I think it is lack of monetization that any revenue is produced, and can be achieved with CPM, CPC and CPA ads if properly implemented.

 

I understand that though getting 7k for a site which isnt earning isnt going to happen in my opinion

Dont get me wrong is a nice site however just for the money would want to see higher earnings

We currently choose to use the site to promote other sites of ours that benefit from this traffic.

I did read the original post. The point i was making its alot considering the revenue

 

Its simple really.

The price isn't alot if you consider the 600,000+ page views a month NOT currently being monetized. Sure if you only value it on the current adsense income it wouldn't be.

But again I reiterate, that it is OUR choice to forward that traffic to our own sites rather than to sell it to others.

The adsense income is only a small part of the total income potential, especially to someone who has sites they want to promote.

If we sold the traffic on the image display pages the income would be much higher.

Traffic is good, offer sounds interesting, but if we do maths, with $100 traffic and $7500 price, it will take 75 months to regain the investment, i.e. more than 6 years.

The image display pages (600,000+ page views per month) are NOT currently monetized.

How much traffic are your sites receiving from advertising on this website? I'd like to know clicks/day (or month).

Also what is the size (GB) of your site, and what's the daily bandwidth?

The site needs some work done, it doesn't look like it has had any updates in a while, I don't think you're going to get $7500 even with the traffic.

Please also add a analytics PDF.

 

I have read the post properly and have understood it too but the fact remains the same that at the present moment the revenue of the website is $100 per month. No one would like to "Experiment" with $7500 to verify if the site really has the potential that you claim.

I would suggest you monetize it well, and then resell if that is the case. Quite frankly, I won't pay $7500 if it's going to take years to cover my investment. Or better yet, I wouldn't consider paying such amount on a site that needs so much work done to potentially make more money.
