I have my ecommerce website and i also have an ebay store that i just opened last month. What are some tips for selling on ebay? I am listing everything as buy it now...should i add best offer? Also i see people list their same item like 20 times just saw their product displays in search results more often..but what is the point of that?
People like the function of best offer, it increases your chances of getting an item sold. You could try wiritng a good and clear description of the item you are selling, providing a good clear picture and making sure that your prices are not too much more than your competitors
If I'm not buying something that I've already held in my own hands (iPods, cameras, etc), I generally buy from whoever has the most detailed images. If you have more images than a competitor, then people will buy from you simply because they have a better idea of what they're going to get. Better still, buy a cheap Lazy Susan from a local Chinese restaurant, and take quick'n'dirty 360 degree videos. Also, I LOVE free shipping, even if the shipping price is built into the BIN price. Sometimes when I'm bored, I just browse BIN auctions $10 and under, that have free shipping. And I absolutely hate having to email people and ask them what the shipping to AU is.
Good images.. If you sell alot get a camera light and make your products look nice when you take pics of them. Good shipping rates, I hate when people jack up shipping to scrounge money. Gives me little trust in them and I go to the next seller.
Here's a few tips. Make sure you read and understand all of eBay's seller policies. Research the competition. See what they are doing; their pricing, shipping, product listings...etc Provide as much product details as possible in your listings. Have clear and easy to understand policies and terms & conditions which are inline with ebay. A good picture is worth a thousand words. Clear & detailed images sell a product like nothing else. Seriously consider offering best offer. It can increase your sales a lot. You can refuse any offer you want. Don't list anything for 99cents unless you are happy to get 99cents. Be wary of any promotions and special offers run by eBay. If for example, they offer a three day insertion free period, heaps of other people will rush to take advantage of it and will list many items for sale. The more items for sale, the harder it'll be for you to make a sale. Optimise your listings for best match. Past (recent) sales play a huge role in determining search rankings so give multiple quantity BIN listings a go if possible. Play around with various shipping options (actual shipping cost, free shipping, cheap shipping...etc) to determine what works the best for you. We've never found free shipping to work. And best match offers no advantages if you offer free shipping. But offering cheaper shipping than the average charged by your competitors seems to give you better search rankings in best match. You'll never be able to please all of your customers. So if you get a neutral or negative feedback take a deep breath and relax, it is not the end of the world. Do not rely on eBay too much. Always consider them as an additional selling venue. They are prone to making catastrophic changes regularly. Hope that helps you a bit.

I work on eBay (customer support) The question is too general and have hundreds of answers. First in which eBay are you selling? ebay.com; .de. co.uk. au. .es .fr... depending on the site you are focusing. But regardless which eBay are you using, the best way to know how it works is to read the help pages and participate in the eBay´s forums. There you will get the hints on what you could do and what no. And do not pay attention to gurus that may tell you how to get millionaire in three months by selling in eBay. There is a very bad time for sells in eBay (the world crisis), so be aware that miraculous solutions don´t exist. What works for a seller dos not have to work for another. The method by eBay is TRY/ERROR.... and work very hard.
Here are a few of my methods - Others may decide otherwise but this works for me. Auction format - Try to make sure your auction ends end somewhere in between the hours of - 5pm to 10pm Folks get home from work or school and start shopping. Most of the auctions I've had that ended in the middle of the day or early in the morning are unsuccessful. Try to calculate your shipping and add it to your listing buy price - So you can offer Free Shipping. Also try to include term Free Shipping in auction Title. Steve
Realistic and fair shipping prices is also always a good one. I prefer shippers who give a custom (and dynamic) quote for shipping based on my postal code as opposed to a blanket rate for the whole country. Makes me feel like the shipping rates are actually legitimate.
I've ran an ebay shop for 12 months now and whilst its been good to me, the fees are starting to get way too high. If I turnover £2000 on ebay, when paypal fees, listing fees, and ebay fees are added.. it can be close to £500 Grateful for the custom obviously, but it aint as cheap as it used to be
I find that free shipping tends to get a lot more bids, but if you're just using Buy It Now it might not have the same effect. Actual photos are definitely better than stock photos.
i think you can try that and thanks for giving me an idea about it. I also own ecommerce site to sell my premium wp themes so i can also add ebay product.
It is not easy to make money on ebay today. Too many similar things offered online. I'm kinda desperated.
Auction style often sells at higher price than BIN! (I had one ebook on sale, BIN price was $2.99, listed that auction style and at the end the highest bid was $8.45) Beautiful design and much pictures increases sales!
