Thought it might be kind of fun to hear what kind of computer everyone here is using and what their specs are. I'll start. Processor: AMD 4800X2 dual core Memory: 2GB Geil platinum GPU: 2 x Gefore 6800GT SLi Motherboard: ASUS A8N Premium Hard Drives: 2 Western digital 200GB Monitors: 3 x 19" CRT Now I know I don't have the best computer but I like it, and I'm alway curious to see what others are using. So what's your specs?
i better wait one more year and buy a new intel with ddr3 ram, 64bit cpu, 4gb ram and 500gb harddisk for 1/2 the price then
Well mine is not bad but not as good as the above one Processor: Intel Pnetuim 4 2.4GHz Memory: 768MB GPU: 128MB Geforce Motherboard: don't remember Hard Drives: Seagate 80GB Monitors: 17" Samsung Syncmaster 793DF lately I got an offer for Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3000 dual pro Memory: 3GB GPU: 512MB Geforce Motherboard: Intel Hard Drives: 2 250GB SATA DVD-RW all this for just 1000$, do you think its a good deal, all is brand as they say. trusted person for me
Hmm, i love to use Laptop. My specs are below:- Processor:- Intel Penitum 4 1.73 ghz RAM:- 0.99 gb. VGA:- 128mb Hard Drive:- 60gb Cd-Drive:- Sony Combo Model:- Dell Inspiron 630m I heard that DELL laptops/desktops are not good, is it true?
uhh... and I thought it was some newer version of microwave oven... A laptop here... HP pavillion, 1.6ghz p-m, 1.25gb ram, 64mb graphic card, 40gb hdd.
That deal sounds like a good deal to me but I haven't been out computer shopping in a while and I'm not familiar with the Pentium 4 3000 processor and an saying 'intel' board is pretty vague. I know you could rig up an awesome AMD dual core system for around a $1000 but I'm not sure if you'd be able to get 2 hard drives and 3GB of good memory for that price.
that's the thing.... We bought one not to long ago Processor Inter P4 3000GHz RAM: 1GB 250GB HDD 128MB Express don't remember what but it was like 256MB DVD-R just for 750$ from that person
for laptop dell insperon 1705 with 2 gig of ram, 120gb hard drive, intel centrino duo core and a 256meg graphics card.
Is this machine not fast enough for you or are you just getting another one for the sake of having two? If you've already got a decent processor, HD and motherboard you could just add some good memory and maybe a new graphics card. But whether it's a 128MB or 256Mb graphics card, it doesn't mean a whole lot in my opinion unless you're a hardcore gamer. There are a lot of cheap 128MB cards that will play any game at a pretty good quality and are good enough for your everyday computer user. I'd say that you shouldn't be impressed by the numbers. So many people sell computers with excellent processors and GPUs but the motherboard, memory, power supply, heatsink and HDs are crap. It's hard to gage what's good and what's not if you don't really know your stuff (I'm not claiming to be an expert myself) but all of the computer components are important and will affect the 'snappiness' of your system. You wouldn't put $50 tires on a Ferrari and expect it to drive like a Ferrari. If you're not looking for a second computer then why not upgrade your current computer and save some money because I'm guessing that even though you'd be getting 3GB of memory it wouldn't be the good stuff and your 2 HDs would likely be Seagate (which is kind of crap imo). I don't know. It's tough to really say without knowing the details.
My personal experience they can be great, but my laptop from them sure SUCKS at the moment. Ram replaced, hard drive replacement on the way, and a tech coming out to replace the mobo
