I was just wondering about this again. As a few years back I was banned for spamming in the yahoo message boards. In fact I was not, as I pointed out to them none of my posts were the same, and all relevant. I believe it was a compeditor who reported me. Problem was this bans your yahoo account....bigger problem was yahoo was my web hoster..... It took like 3 weeks to get thiis straightened out, all the while my business email account was not able to be accessed and my website was offline. What scares me is that the person that banned me didnt take the time to even read any of the posts before the ban....
Yes but in my case it was not spamming as I enged up getting my account back after the yahoo person actually reviewed the posts that were reported and determined they were relevant and not spam. That is the scary part....what I can just report someone and they're banned??? Especially in my case it was a huge blow to my business at the time.
You had to suffer because of misundertsanding. Well i dont know why the person who banned you did not care to even read your posts which were declard "not-a-spam" later on. Best of luck everywhere.
Thank you very much. It was a terrible time. I bet I spent 400 dollars just calling yahoo, me being in China, those calls aint cheap. I even thought of a lawsuit...but....its yahoo...
Why don't you use Skype? You can have unlimited calls to landlines, and it's less than $6 a month. The quality of the sound is very good.
What's sad about this is that Yahoo hosting is known for not booting spammers but yet whacks this person. (Granted I'm trusting you to be honest here.) Hmmm, only thing I can find right off is from 2005. http://www.bestsyndication.com/2005/Dan-WILSON/Whats_NEW/09/090605-yahoo-phishing-spam-hosting.htm
Yes it is true, which is why I got my account back. No sorry, no nothing they just sent me a generic responce like 'after reviewing your case it has been determined you did not break the forum rules, your account has been re-activated'
No not the yahoo answers. This was a forum by yahoo, the topic of this particular for was business. I dont even know if they have this anymore, as I said this happened about a year or so ago, since then I have avoided anything to do with posting anything on Yahoo like the plauge.
hi yahoo will ban for these fallowing reasons, 1.if you answers more then 20 questions 2.copy and paste repeatedly same answers 3.using same hyper link 4.if your answer was reported by community for more then 2 times 5.if you post more then 5 questions if you use the yahoo answer by remembering above point .your account wont get suspend
Im personally fine with all these rules and never broke one of them, still got banned for a few months, untill like I said, they actually read the posts. My problem is with 4. I believe it was a compeditor who reported me, so if he reports me twice for no valid reason Im banned? I certainly was not going there for the hits, as it generated perhaps .05% of my overall hits.
