Hi, I know the SEO benefits of a directory listing... but how much traffic do you receive from these directories? How well does this traffic convert when promoting an affiliate program? Thanks!
The keypoint of directories is to build links, and make web pressence known. Directories convert to very little, to no traffic.
As said, directories aren't used to get a targeted audience. They are used to boost your search engine placement which in turn drives targeted traffic.
Agreed.I also use these directories to boost my backlink and better PR.traffic is always less from these sites..
It depends on what type of site you are trying to promote. Many good directories don't accept affiliate links, although the spammy ones do. SERPS is the key since Google and Yahoo are #1 and #3 in traffic. Holy crap just saw that Facebook is #2, probably old news to many of you. http://www.alexa.com/topsites
I got an email from Ezine this morning that an article of mine was published and it would be featured on their homepage within 48 hrs, you'd think there would be a tiny bump of traffic with their 11MM UV / mo.
I don't think I get much traffic from directories, it's so many website in on directories it just for back links
a few hits a month come in from all the directories that i've submitted to and am listed in. odd isn't it?
yes i am agree with the idea because i have submitted one of my client website to almost 1000 plus directories, but getting hardly 4 to 5 visitors per day. http://www.sybotechnologies.com
Directories provide back links only. and may be eliminate in new future of they don't add some other facilities.
Directories are useful only for making your website more popular ( you will get more backlinks for your website) so dont expect to get traffic from directories . Maybe less than one hit to your website from most directories weekly.
