    Hi everybody,

I Just lunched a new site 12 days ago, and my target keyword has about 7000 sites competing if your search with quotes.

My site showed up on page 7 in Google when it was Indexed and after 3 days it got position 6 on the first page and good traffic.

Today my site went back on page 7 in Google.

I know about the Google Dance, but my questions are:
What is actually going on... why has my sited dropped down 6 pages?

Usually new sites goes up in index then G pushes them down and after a while settles at right rank.

Depending on the amount and quality of competition, be prepared to wait a good year, or until you have some strong backlinks before you start ranking well in serps. It's hard work, but it pays off.

thats typical for new sites. sometimes within days of launching a sites, due to fresh content and new link building activities, a new site makes to front page. that ranking dont last for long. you need to work on your link building and keep adding fresh content on your site to get a stable ranking

During the initial launch of your websites it is normal to see up and down bounces in ranking and page positioning. That is what everyone experiences.

Nothing Strange with your site, It happens with newly indexed sites initially rank higher and goes up but soon their rank drop a lot but do not worry very much it may comes up if you continuously build quality links for your site and promote it using white hat SEO and also yu need patience a lot as it will take some time.

You said the keywords "new site". Its perfectly normal for a new site to float around in the results pages - so dont worry about it.

From what I have seen, it usually takes about 6 months for a new sites ranking to stabilize.
