Free VOIP phone service from the Magic Jack

I was just watching an infomercial about it last night on tv and it seems like a really interesting product. It supposedly gives you the same kind of service of VOIP companies for far less with no contracts or cancellation fees. You also get your own phone number. Here's their website:

I just bought this last night from Radio Shack and I must say it is really cool. I am disconnecting my land line and this thing will save me about $625 bucks per year. I was weary at first but since you can return it back to radio shack +plus+ the fact that they don't take your Credit Card info nor do they require a contract, it's a mindless decision.

If you have cable or satellite Internet and you don't mind leaving your PC on all the time (which I do anyhow), it's a perfect and cheap solution that saves you lots and lots of $$$.

I recommend it.

 

I don't think satellite internet works well with VoIP.

You mean you are using MagicJack and gets an error launching the application?

 

From what I have been told by people who've bought it, when the intital guarantee period runs out they move you to a much lower quality of service.

 

I actually tried MagicJack but I didn't like the quality so I returned it. I am using Onesuite VoIP service and its good most of the time and though its not cheap as MagicJack I get what I've paid for. But who will complain for phone bills at $5/month on an average.
