Tips on Promoting a new url shortening site

    Well you can always use youtube which helps a lot... advertise your link on it....

    Use it on twitter, or similar sites...people want to see the url shortener on action. To see how good it is.

    if u got a budget for advertising u should use an inline twitter service like ad.ly. buy a tweet from kim kardashian saying she loves your url shortening service and im sure you'll get some loyal followers.

    Well basically use the links on big forums that way once u post a lot slowly users will also start using

    also I think its a good idea to start an image hosting site & integrate the url shorening on the uploaded photos.

    You mightl ook into sponsoredtweets. Get some people on twitter talking about it. Especially if you think you really do have a good product. But if you can't compete with the existing URL shortners, then I wouldn't bother. :)

    exactly what phpgator said, if you cannot give bit.ly a run for the money, don't bother. API, stats, tracking, click sourcing they are at the top of the game. Are you?

    Sponsored tweets works, but it will cost you... I make around $100 or so per month on ST
