I've discovered from my own experience that it is sometimes very difficult to find motivation to do things, especially if the result takes long to be seen. Good news is that there are some things you can do to improve. I will list them here and I hope you will add your own thoughts. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Planning and goal setting is central to every aspect of your life. What do you want from your web enterprise? What is the goal? Bundles of guineas? Loads of cash? If your goal is loads of cash, you'll never achieve that because it is something you cannot visualize. Money is only a means of achieving something. So what is this "something" you really want? Visualize it and you'll get it! To Do: Set a goal Write down a plan of action Keep a diary or daily task-list and stick to it Now that you keep a task-list you will see you don't waste your time. This will make you feel good. But there is something that can make you feel even better. Don't be ashamed to mimic (copy) other people. Look for successful and famous people and see how they have achieved their goals. Gather their quotes, write them down (on real sheets of paper) and keep the quotes on your desk. Each time you feel low, look at the sheets and you'll feel the power. You can also make a screen wallpaper with your famous person's photo and some quotes. Then each time you start up your computer, it will give you a boost. Look for really strong people, somebody who has beaten all the odds and emerged a winner. For example, my power-people are Sir Winston Churchill and Abraham Lincoln! They are beacons of light and progress! But the quote that gets me started in the bad days comes from Andy Williams. In case you're wondering, he's the greatest singer ever (after Frankie, that is). He said: "The only thing that matters is what you do with your time". If you waste your time, you waste your life, and you only got one, so, pull yourself together!!! Now, what gets you going?
thanks for nice post, agree with you we all have low motivation moments sometimes,is there such a site where you can find those famous quotes?
Sometimes,it's the personality that acts.Maybe you can copy the ways or the plan, but the spirit can't be copied.
Very motivating and interesting article. "The only thing that matters is what you do with your time" - wow, I never looked at it that way, but so true indeed. Thanks.
The greatest motivation for me is when I think of the things I am deprived of. Through that I strive in doing what's best to achieve what I wanted.
Having an important person form your life next to you and encouraging you, I find to be a good motivation.
Thank you all for the comments. I really appreciate! You can try http://en.proverbia.net/citasautor.asp?autor=11521 (just browse the authors at the top) or just google "famous quotes". Cheers! Is the wheel patented at last? Yep, but who knows, maybe your spirit is even bigger than those of famous people and it just needs something to kick-start its development. Learning from clever people (alas, majority of us learn from fools) may be a way to give it a kick-start! Persistence... Some people quit 5 minutes before the success! Just a query. Isn't it that in the end you just concentrate on negative vibrations too much? I once read a book written by a doctor (no use telling his name because the book is not available in English (nor Spanish) LOL). The idea was that a patient who concentrates on the lack of health and strives to get well (he sends out a subconscious message: I am ill, I am ill, aargh!) - struggles to get well. While a patient who concentrates on getting well (he visualises himself being healthy and well before it actually happens) really gets well pretty quick. Just a thought...
I believe what matters in the end is passion in the work that you do. If the primary motivational factor is just money alone, then things will never work out.
My motivation is - earning on my living every day. I never copy ways by other famous people, because I'm not they and they're not me. Life doesn't allow me to be lazy.
