The sympathy and solidarity that the Hizbollah show toward the Palestinians does not include, and not by chance, their inferior status within Lebanon. For example, the organization does not raise its voice on the Lebanese law that prohibits over 350,000 Palestinian refugees living in Lebanon from practicing a long list of 70 professions, including medicine, journalism, law, and even driving a public taxi. According to the law, only Lebanese citizens may practice these professions, or these whose home country allows Lebanese to work freely in it. Palestinian refugees may practice the "forbidden" professions only inside the refugee camps. The absurd is that Palestinians may own their own taxi, called a "red number" in Lebanon, but not a have a license to drive it. As a result, in Lebanon there are only 200 legal Palestinian taxi drivers, which managed to get a hand on the desired license via family relationships or acquisition of Lebanese citizenship. Hassan Nasrallah never said a word on this issue. Hasrallah understands, unlike with the resettlement of Palestinians in Lebanon and the deterioration of their status as refugees, giving the Palestinians a permit to drive a taxi will directly damage his shiite supporters. Source: http://www.haaretz.com/hasite/spages/1122484.html (bottom of the page, the top of the page is about women dress codes in the Kuwaiti parliament...) Lebanon is one of countless examples of the maltreatment Palestinians get in their host Arab countries, despite the great words of solidarity of the leaders. After the 1st gulf war, the Palestinians of Kuwait were subject to harsh persecutions by the authorities due to Arafat's unconditional support of Saddam Hussein. http://www.gulfwar1991.com/Gulf War...d Ethnic Cleansing, By Hassan A El-Najjar.htm But also before, the Palestinians of Kuwait always suffered humiliating discrimination. Again a list of professions that couldn't study/practice, inability to hold property or even to travel abroad. Iraq: After the fall of Saddam Hussein, Palestinians were persecuted in Iraq and formed (yet another) Palestinian refugee camp in the north of Iraq, called: Al Tanf , this time a 21th century camp. The neighbouring states of Turkey and Syria were so sympathetic and showed such a great solidarity with the residents of the Al Tanf Palestinian refugee camp fleeing for their lives that in order to prevent the residents to die out of sicknesses and starvation, all of its ~3,000 members accepted asylum in Canada & European union. But since solidarity with the Al-Tanf Palestinians does not involve any criticism and/or hatred of Israel, who heard about Al-Tanf?. Who cares? nobody. Egypt: In camp-David, I remember there was a huge scene when Begin offered Sadat the Gaza strip "on the house". Sadat of course refused to have them and was furious that Begin even put it on the table. In Egypt, 0.8% of the Population are Palestinians, but speaking of permanent residence or equal rights is a tabboo that might get you imprisoned. But that's nothing in comparison with the blockage that Egypt puts on the Palestinians of the Gaza strip. Unlike Israel, where the "blockade" (which is more precisely a boycott since the raise of power of the Hamas) is 4 years old, in the Egyptian case it is 30 years old. Only Israel gets condemned for the "blockade", but Egypt? hey, what can be more natural than the Egyptian blockade? Its called "Arab Solidarity". what people think In Saudi Arabia, citizenship is reserved for people of Saudi descent only (and Israel is a racist apartheid country.... ) To remain in the country, Palestinians must renew their residence permits every two years for a fee of about $600. Palestinians must also be "sponsored" by a Saudi Arabian citizen to own real property, work, or own a business. On October 2004, Nuradin AHMED, a Palestinian refugee requested asylum in the USA after his father had successfully operated and expanded a grocery store for 15 years, only to see his Saudi sponsor - the de jure owner of the store - take the business away once it became profitable. Each time a Palestinian wishes to change jobs, he must change sponsors for a fee of about $2,000. source source source Furthermore, to prevent the massive influx of Iraqi refugees due to the violence in Iraq, the Saudis are building a 7$ billion fence, in violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Yet every 16 year old high school pupil in Belgium knows just anything about the Israeli "segragation wall" which, albeit misery and inconvenience, SAVED lives and cost none, but know nothing about the Saudi wall. Not to mention the Egyptian wall on Gaza. And couple of other such walls around the world. In Jordan, a land in which they are the majority (2.8 million or 60%-80%), the Palestinians are doing best. Of course, the rights they in Jordan are limited and they do not have a full citizenship. The King even married a Palestinian woman, born in the WB. Now nobody can say that "he doesn't like Palestinians". However, when the Palestinians are posing even the slightest of threats on the Jordanian ruling bedooin (hashemite) minority, the government knows exactly how to "take care of them", also at the price of thousands of bodies, according to the highest standards of the "Arab Solidarity". No Goldstones, no "human right" organization, Nada. And for the Goldstone fans, I would like to remember that your heroes and protectors of the Palestinian people, the Hamas, is banned in Jordan since 1999, when he was given an ultimatum to take its headquarters/"education" institutions/money and get the hell out of Amman. Where did the Hamas find refuge in? naturally, Damascus, Syria. And Syria, oh Syria, How are the Palestinians doing there? Actually, I don't know. Nobody knows. In a country where the government can butcher dozens of thousands of protestors in a single day... no wonder that demonstrators protest and burn the Danish embassy over the Mohamed Caricatures before they will go to protest against their president and his gang who live in magnificent golden palaces? the syrians can't afford a simple internet connection, intentionally overpriced by the government so that only its supporters will have (censors and monitored) access...... The I am not even talking about the bloodshed and the blood sucked by Syria from the Lebanese people for decades.... 500,000 Palestinians live in Syria. Their whereabouts and situation is unknown, just as the situation of the rest of the Syrians oppressed by their Alawi ruling minority, ruling with an iron fist, making everything possible to keep the Syrian economy undeveloped, the education non-existent, and the mentality of the people in the middle ages. hmmm... Libya. Well.. you all know about the instable mental health of the Libyan leader Gaddafi. The Palestinians get to suffer from that too.... for example in 2007, he threatened that if the Palestinians will dare to concede on the "right on return" (to pre-1967 territories), he will deport all of the Palestinians refugees residing in Libya to the Gaza strip. You think that the wacko is just threatening and won't execute? think again. After Israel signed the Oslo agreement with Arafat/PLO, Gadaffi randomly selected 20 families of the about 2,500 Palestinians living in Libya and expelled them to the Egyptian border, to noman-land new refugee camp, established 1995. Source source source And...you know which Palestinian arab community in the world is most educated, the only Arabs in the world who can elect and get elected in free elections? who can travel the world freely? who get the best medical health care and have the highest income and most importantly, the BEST education? Yup. All of you get a V for guessing correctly. These are the Arab/Palestinian citizens of the "Apartheid" state of Israel
While i'm sure the Palestinians appreciate your insincere concerns, i think they are more worried about F-16's dropping bombs on their houses when they wake up, rather than how to obtain Saudi Arabian citizenship at the moment.
I am sure you will be happy, if all palestinans will be deported to Saudi Arabia, or any other country
Not at all. That's not why I learn Arabic and demonstrate against the settlements. This thread is on all palestinians of the world but those in Israel. Have anything to say about them? you think that the facts in the opening post are...nice? acceptable? true? not true? Why you guys don't speak on your own back yard for once?
I love how Lebanon actually enforces what illegal immigrants cannot do, while in the United States illegal immigrants are almost encouraged to get cheap labor jobs for the sake of higher profits. There are fewer groups of people on this planet I have more sympathy for than the Palestinians, and now with the allegations that Israel has been cutting their water supplies, it is unconscionable to continue turning a blind eye to these people.
are you joking? an Israeli caring so much about the living conditions of Palestinians in Arab countries? how about those Palestinians living under occupation? in "starvation just before death" and in "open-air" prisons, with no enough water, or food, or medicine, and with check points that make the distance between two towns 50 miles when the real distance is only 5 miles, very high unemployment rates, continuous aggressions by dirty settlers, and who get collectively punished, and who get kicked out of their homes and have their property stolen? I know not all Palestinians in Arab countries are living in good conditions, but still compared to Palestinians under occupation? they are much better, and we should not forget, Palestinians in Arabian countries, are refugees, not citizens, Arabian countries is not responsible for correcting Israel mistakes, and covering Israel crimes, you can't kick somebody out his house and later blame his neighbor why he did not allow him to spend the night?
"not living in good conditions" ---> don't you think its an understatement? "starvation just before death" ----> don't you think its an exaggeration? So basically, all the maltreatment in Lebanon, in Kuwait, In libya (who treat them like dogs!), is because of Israel. Israel Again. This is what you're saying. I see. This arab education system that blames the west and Israel for all the sicknesses of own societies is amazing. We can't expect the neighbor to be nice, you say, but also not if he says that "he is the brother of the Palestinians" and he "cares about the Palestinians"? There are 1.1 million Palestinians living in Israel. My city is 15% Palestinian. They are living pretty good actually, better than all arabs of the world, as said in my opening post. My two neighbours are Palestinian. one christian, lawyer, one muslim, auto mechanic. You have to see those guys, I wouldn't say "starvation just before death"
I do not want to go along deep with your tries to divert, just in short: you can't kick somebody out his house and later blame his neighbor why he did not allow him to spend the night? (even if that neighbor was his brother)
Israel demolishes only houses of terrorists. But Israel is not the topic of the thread. You happen to know something about the persecutions of Palestinians in Kuwait?
does it get more funny someone who tries to justify even the blockage water, talking about persecutions of Palestinians in Kuwait hello ... did you have a look at your own backyard .? what are you doing there ... ever heard of Charity begins at home ?
chaostrivia! I think you know that the so called Islamic goverments are not really following Islam, but rather use its name when it serve them only. Their aim is to keep themselves as rulers any way possible. If the US will do that for them, they will apply the US order and seek its stisfaction. If they feel that their people might cause danger for them, they condemn Israel for the crimes they practice against muslims and huminity. Muslims should be one body, and their countries should be one country, and there should be no injustice or oppression in their land. Lo! Allah enjoineth justice and kindness, and giving to kinsfolk, and forbiddeth lewdness and abomination and wickedness. He exhorteth you in order that ye may take heed. (90) [16:90] sadly, we are not yet true muslims, but we will struggle against ourselves till we reach the hight (real Islam).
ChaosTrivia, what would you rather see, 1. The Palestinians with the West Bank and Gaza Strip and duel citizianship with Israel 2. No more West Bank and Gaza Strip, assimilating into Israel with the Palestinians 3. The Palestinians immigrate to another Musilm country and claiming The West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Sure ... 5 demolitions in one day, 26 people displaced (including 10 children) And An Israeli activist must be imprisoned for an attempt to prevent a houses of terrorists
And An Israeli activist must be imprisoned for an attempt to prevent a houses of terrorists[/QUOTE] Why were those houses demolished? the ICAHD is an extreme lefting organization and their website doesn't say it for a reason. besides, east jerusalem is a different story than the WB. There, not only terrorist houses but also illegal buildings are destroyed, just as illegal building in Tel Aviv will be destroyed. I will not discuss this anymore. But the topic is "Palestinians living in Arab countries", their abuse and apartheid - the story untold in the world media. Yes new. persecutions of Palestinians in Kuwait http://www.gulfwar1991.com/Gulf War...d Ethnic Cleansing, By Hassan A El-Najjar.htm Also: persecutions of Palestinians in Saudi Arabia Also: persecutions of Palestinians in Lebanon Also: persecutions of Palestinians in Libya Refer for the opening post for more knowledge on the above. Have anything to say? As usual polite teen, you can't make a simple statement that makes sense. This thread is not about how much Islamic countries follow Islam and not about "real Islam", its wahabi terrorist version that you follow, but it is about degradation of the Palestinians in the arab countries who present themselves as "friends of the palestinians". Next, try to write a post including the word "palestinians".
I have just showed you one example of demolishing. You told me that "Israel demolishes only houses of terrorists", this not true. There had been many of house demolishing, forcing ppls out of their own house, lands, and occupying lands. you can't kick somebody out of his house
Ok. And, do you know anything about the legal status of the Palestinians in Syria? Erdogan's new friend?
Do you know what is the problem ? The problem is you trying to take out of The Palestine , and occupied lands the Palestinians problems
And except for Israel the Arab and Muslim world has no problems at all? Then why for example doesnt the Arab world make any contributions to science, in non-negligible masses, I mean?
