ok guys , i had to write a big a$$ comment on a .gov blogger site to get a link back , now that i got it , i just wanted to know when i can see results on my site? and obviously i had to write my name there , so when someone click my name then they go to my name , will it be help full or should i have used a key word as a name? tell me some good news please
.gov is no different that any other trusted site. Sorry to bust your bubble. And yes your should have used a keyword/anchor text, your name will do little good.
funny how there are still people who think getting govs and edus make a difference - what zingo said.
If you had used a keyword as your name, it may have affected their decision to publish your comment. So maybe you did the right thing here by simply using your name. Any back link is good and if you have a strong back link without optimised anchor text it will still help your site. The strength of the .gov site lies not with the domain extension itself but the number and quality of inbound links it has as well as the number of outbound links on the page. The best blogs to comment on are those where you have to write a detailed, intelligent reply to the post (i.e. the heavily moderated ones).
Yup, that's why you really have to dig for auto approved .GOVs, they're rare but there are plenty of unmoderated spots out there to drop a link.
with just one gov blog link, you will not see any visible different in ranking or traffic. gov or edu backlinks used to be pretty valuable a while back but now they dont worth any more than .com links
Unfortunately, only one link from .gov will not bring you huge results. They do not value as much as they used to value a while ago.
thanks u ppl for your comments, my site is only 1month old , and i got 10 .edu backlinks and 1 .gov links and many good anchored back link from related sites. I am not a good seo, just learning my way through so thats y i am creating backlinks other wise good seo dont even backlinks
Instead of focusing on getting backlinks from .gov and .edu sites, you should focus on getting backlinks from high quality, relevant sites.
I think you also have to focus on related sites also.. I dont think google will be putting much emphasis on pr in the near future
