Hey recently purchased a site, and had to transfer it to my hosting server. Should i expect the PR to restart or see a drop in rankings?

I highly doubt that changing to a different server will effect it, but I did read a few articles saying otherwise.

I don't think it could effect immediately since PR update once every 2 to 3 months.

PR shouldn't restart, but still can. What do you mean by "purchased a site"? Did domain name change?

PR is based mostly on your website backlinking profile.

So if you kept your backlinks nor redirected your old site to the new one using 301 redirection PR will remain the same and will never be affected.
