    Hey guys!

Great work. I am super-impressed. As always, I will closely review every single entry and post my thoughts here on every entry in one or two days. I will also PM the winner.

    Also no more entries. :)

    Hello Janine,

    In reference to helpingstories2.png

Just a quick question: Would you mind removing the
"Users Today", "Total Visitors", "Registered" text and in it's place putting a tag cloud like the one at http://tinyurl.com/2qfwah

Other suggestion: categories text bigger and in the right hand column below the login form (more like nav links).

I still have not made my choice 100%, but I do like Janine's design.

    ==WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT==

    Thank you everyone for entering.

First let me bore you with all my comments :) Hopefully they are a little helpful!

Xavier_3D: I loved how unique your design was. It really shows how much skill you have as a designer. I loved the different fonts, your use of white space, the lowercase lettering, pretty much everything. If I didn't like one thing, it was the colour combinations. I think they worked well with the design, but seemed a little dull to me. I did however really like your use of stock photography as well as the giant 'register' button to get a user's attention. Please enter my future contests!

katesrobyn: Great to see you entering again! I always look forward to your designs! You design was surely one of the finalists. I ended up not choosing it because I wanted to go in a different direction. I feel like your design is also one of the most unique designs I have seen. I really loved it and wish I could just invent another site right now so I could use this design. What I liked the most was your use of hand-drawn art. It makes the design so different, so unique. Great, great job!

sarsh11: I loved your use of colour and sharp, square edges. The green, red, and greys really match well together. I also really liked the uppercase 'USERNAME/PASSWORD' font and styling. My favourite feature was the design of the tag box at the bottom. Also the red box on the bottom right. I wish I could take those features and use them in the final website design anyway. (I won't though, don't worry.)

Nasweefpn 1: I really liked your childish theme with the pictures at the bottom. I also liked your style for the top half of the page. The top was elegant and modern and the bottom was childish and cool (a good thing). Both were great in their own right, but I felt that they did not fit well together. I did however like your extra spacious lettering in the main content of the design.

Nasweefpn 2: I liked your second design a lot. First of all green is my favourite colour, especially the shade of green you used. I try to not let it influence me too much, but you did a nice job with the colour. I love the little leaf type thing growing next to the logo. I also really liked the simplicity of your design.

Nasweefpn 3: Thank you for submitting so many entries. I really like all of them. This entry had an antique feel to it. I liked how you left me a little spot for ads. Also I did like the pen and ink at the top as a reference to writing. I loved how simple this design was. Great job on all of your designs!

Chewysmom: What a elegant design. I love the green and dark colours matching. Your design wireframe is exactly what I was envision for the website. If I had to do the design myself and had your skills, I would have done something similar to what you have done. I really like the caps 'WELCOME' and the font you used. It is really pleasing to my eyes and I just started at that font for a good minute or so just because I liked it. Actually, your entire use of typography on the entire design was excellent. I also really liked the little rectangular 'About' box you put in there. Very nice job!

Janine: I loved your design. The light blue colour brings out the entire design and makes emotions flow. Once I saw this, I knew this was the type of thing I wanted. It brings emotion to the visitor and soothes the eyes. Plus the entire thing is beautiful.

sLiMsHaDys: Great to see you again in one of my contests. I love your work! I loved this design as well. This was probably very high on my list of preferred designs. I love how it is a little playful yet serious at the same time. I did like the blue, but thought it may have been a little bit dull (maybe that is a good thing for a literature site?). I really liked your grunge-type fonts and the weird and crazy headings. They create a certain mood for the site which I enjoyed very much. nice job.

Valentin: I loved the simplicity of your design and the revised design you submitted. I was not sure if I preferred it with the extra buttons or not, but it was nice to have that choice. The top part of the design was excellent with the title font, the sun-ray style background, and the entire menu (all of it from the font to the colours). The sign-in scroll was also a very nice touch. I would have loved to have had that in my final website as well. The little folded effect at the bottom of the content was also a very nice touch. I really liked this design. You are a great designer.

ruizelfiero: Great job. I love the fake coffee image. I like the wooden background. I like the spirit of your design. It should make one happy to look at it. I like the colours, I like the people jump, I like all the little things you added to make it look like a work desk (the spilled coffee, the pen, etc.). This was a very creative design and I would love to see more designs from you in the future.

MohammadHaja: I really liked how your design was very web 2.0ish just like I wanted. The circular boarders were a nice touch. The colours. Everything just fits nicely together in a web 2.0 style. I liked the little mother and daughters image you used at the bottom and I liked how you used the actual year (i.e., 2009) for the copyright information (don't worry guys, this was not a major point in deciding the winner). Also, I really liked how you put up an ad space for me. I did not mention this, but it was really something I wanted.

ZinniDoll: I liked your design, though it was a little bit unorganized. I felt as though some of the images were just randomly put on the page. I did like all the images you chose and how they all have a central theme. I also liked your colours. I like how the text folds around the images though the thought of coding that frightens me a little. Overall, good job though. I hope to see more of your designs in my future contests.

The Peoples SEO: Your entry was nice though I am not sure if you read my opening post (you did not use "Sample"--it did not matter for this contest, but you still broke the rules). I did not feel like the women with her laptop captured what I was trying to do with the website. I did like all the background work and the blue effects. I would have liked to see some sample text just to get a feel for what that would look like. A very nice job.

    AND THE WINNER IS...

    Janine

Great job everybody. I love having these contests because I see what talent there is out there. I hope to be able to host some more contests soon.

    Congrats Janine :)

Though one thing to contest holder.

You are one generous person :) I didn't see one comment that may have lead to something like, "I don't like it". Thanks anyways.
