Thats really against DP rules to sell your account to anybody :(..in my opinion he should be banned..strange to know people are doing all these for some bucks..I guess it all makes mods jobs much tougher ..

Yeah it's kinda scary to think of what could happen if a 'reputable' member sells their account, the mods somehow don't catch it, and that user then could potentially bilk decent users out of quite some dough. I wouldn't really think twice about dealing with someone here that has 100+ itrader, 1000+ posts, and positive rep......

Running a large forum is nothing like it was running it when it was small...

That's a whole other thing we get to deal with. People *pretending* to have duplicate accounts to try and get the duplicate accounts merged so they take over the account (someday).

Also lots of people creating duplicate accounts that appear to belong to a *different* user, then the person that created them reports the user as having duplicate accounts. Those ones are always fun... with the reporting user ending up the one being banned for duplicate accounts.

You have hundreds of thousands of users all trying to figure out how to find loopholes in stuff. You would be amazed at how many PayPal payments have come in for premium accounts, but the dollar amount wasn't right (people going through the trouble of making a fake webpage with the form filled in with a invalid dollar amount). Some as little as $0.01... lol Of course they don't get auto-activated because the amount was incorrect, but funny still.

@Shawn: Maybe you should export the banned-user data to a page (user id, email, ip, etc) to a sort of 'wall of shame' here...

If someone doesn't follow the rules, the privacy policy is void, or at least should be void.

That and they should certainly not have all their user names merged. Like Menj as a for instance who had all his duplicate names merged and now has a fuckton of rep. Once unbanned he's gonna look too legit to quit!

I'm in full support of the propose punishment(s) Rob has suggested.

Hopefully in time the situation and issue can be remedied.
