Have anyone tried paying someone to rant about your website on his high PR blog to get traffic? How is the result like?
We do a similar think for some of our clients. It's hard work and can be time consuming and expensive, but it does get some good results if the blogs are well targeted.
It is more of a strong backlink rather than a traffic generator when you advertise on sites which aren't exactly similar to yours. If it is a similar site,it may result in more traffic. Also getting listed in "interesting links" or " Blogs I view" of similar topic high PR blogs may work quite well in gettting traffic.
You can get some pretty good traffic as well as links from some of the nice blogs. Try to go for the pair article/advertorial option instead of just getting a link, you're much more likely to get a clickthrough.
Blog marketing is extremely effective. For a previous client, I identified about 100 blogs that we wanted to target; and began to engage in dialouge with these blogs. The result was tons of buzz and web traffic.
basically, we developed custom email templates introducing the new service and why it would be important for their readers. Then we personalized each email and sent them out. We didn't offer them any deals.
I'm actually in the process of doing the same. I fully support the idea. However, blog marketing is somewhat slower than other types of online promotion. How did you find the blogs that you thought would be relevant to your business?
I recently had someone rant about my site in their blog. It's basically a storng backlink. Also the blgo is about website design and SEO and they said things about my site that I quoted in my media kit!
MattUK - yes you are right. Hours of searching through Technorati, Blogger and I found some really good blog directories that were well categorized.
Today i will try adding a press release as i never submitted one before. Anyone can give me some tips about press release?
yes, but it takes hours to come up with a list of 200 or so, then sending personalized emails etc....it's not as easy as you think.
