I launched http://TrackTrending.com and it quickly went from the 5,000,000th most viewed website according to alexa, to the 392,000 most viewed website within 5 days. The site is a techblog. We even interviewed the Hot Topic CEO to get her view on social media. Please tell me what you think about the site. All feedback taken into consideration. Thanks!
well, in my opinion, you should work a little bit more to the design. Then, you do not have permalinks active in Wp for seo-> friendly links for SE. You have ... ?p=23 -not good
I added SEO friendly permalinks. Thank you! As far as the design goes, I am working on a list of new features I want to add and then I am going to implement them all, along with a full site redesign all at once.
The design of the blog is very impressive and it was good in loading. The contents are interesting and it is well organised.
Thanks for all of the feedback so far. I have taken it all into consideration and it is good to hear the most of it is positive. Since I want to compete with Mashable and TechCrunch in the long run, I would like to know which of those two sites do you like better? Or do you ever visit either? What would keep you coming back to TrackTrending.com?
Think it looks great. My answer to your question Is simply content! Regular posts (I think one a day) and quality posts. I don't think the design makes a great deal of difference to repeat visits UNLESS the site is tough to use. I think your site is easy to use and that is a big plus! Only thinks I'd work on are cross browser compatibility; the header breaks in FF although this is not a massive deal. I'd do a bit more with the logo too; font/color and maybe align left so you can use the rest of the header bar for imagery / ads. Hope this helps. Steve
while reading your post, for me it just another blog nothing specials.. try add more quality content and interesting post.. good luck
such a great website.. but my comment its simple design.. and try to create interesting post like nighteagle said.. good luck..
I just reviewed your website. its good to see some useful stuff at a single location at a time. The site seems to be very simple due to its simple colors and lack of flash animations and fascinating stuff. You can make it more catchy.
Your guys' feedback got me featured on KillerStartups.com. I have taken all of your advice into consideration and am working on some higher quality posts, along with new features. Keep it coming!
I am now publishing around 6 posts each day and I am going to keep the number increasing. I want 15 posts max each day in the long run. Is that too many?
nice memorable domain name with alliteration you have chosen If you get a more magazine-like theme this would make in look more authoritative, cause this one is missing something, although it isn't terrible. Keep on adding on-topic content, and you should succeed. Have you thought about how you will monetize your site to help you keep it growing?
Thank you, I will look into some different themes, but I have had success with the current one as well. Of course, I am always working to build a stronger reader base and your suggestion just might be the key to doing that. I will definitely keep it in mind. I do have various ideas in mind when it comes to monetizing the site, but I am holding off on everything in that regard, except Adsense, until later.
I am going to experiment with having a user-generated tech blog, so anyone can make posts. Of course, then I run the risk of having spam and worthless content getting through. I am going to monitor the site pretty vigorously and see how it goes, but I want to get your opinions. This could be very risky, so I want to take your feedback in quickly. Thanks!
