Anyone understand slyip and weedns I think there is some content theifery and cloaking going on. For awhile they were gone (i.e. google figured it out), but now they are back. I think straw berrynet dot com is behind the blackhat techniques - well probably a lot more. I have tried to beat them (within my ethical limitations), but now is the time to fight fire with fire. anyone with insight?
I haven't visited them personally, are these bot sites or just sites cloaking affiliate links? and if you want to beat them at their own game are you referring to preventing them stealing your content or coding a better webscraper and cloaking script to automate your site more efficiently? Either way if your tiring to protect your content you could report any plagiarism that may have occurred to google or get a copyscape script and/or block their bot from crawling your site (check raw server stats) And sorry I can't help you with the other one! that's something you'll need to figure out yourself..lol. here's a starter for you anyway: sourceforge.net/projects/snoopy/ ROOFIS
Ethical limitations??? You see, when you are trying to shut down your competition, which is what it seems that you are trying to do, no one has ethical limitations. Its a cruel world and if they are using black hat techniques, well, it seems that you just won't win. Quit complaining about what others are doing and learn how to do things on your own. There are always going to be people that are doing illegitimate things, get over it.
