Window 7 > XP, and really the only practical OS... linux is fast sure, but with hardware these days speed isnt an issue unless your broke. And MAC is pointless to when taken into consideration you have to pay 2K for inferior specs.

i am still using Windows XP and found it very reliable. Windows 7 is new and have lots of good features but program compatibility will be an issue for a time. i now windows 7 has windows xp mode in it but running windows xp nativity is better :D

Heh. CNET has an article today showing Mac OSX outshines Windows7. Also, Computerworld says OSX is faster than Windows7.

For the amateur's desktop? Probably but, if you have someone to hold your hand, Linux can do just as well.
If speed isn't an issue then you've just knocked Windows7 down several notches. That seems to be all anyone talks about as being important.

Actually Windows 7 had 8 Million BETA testers.

Many people use it, it's more stable, efficient, and speedy.

You'll never know if you don't try it. I've been running it for 3 months.

Unless you have under 1 GB of RAM, you should upgrade to WIndows 7

1)when you go by cost it is definitely Windows Xp (as you get it at lesser price than Windows 7)
2)resource utilization in Windows 7 is far better than winXP so more efficient
    3)Win7 Very fast
    4)In windows 7 less system crashes,so more reliable :)

Overall.. windows 7 is better than windows XP :)

XP is old so offcourse its price is going to be less compares to windows 7 .. they may not even mind giving it free now.. Windows 7 seems to be good.. but then again too early to judge price wise too high

Still running win xp, but like many on this thread i hear like a few others the win 7 seems to be a good move for microsoft. This make me wonder if i should stay or go with win 7.

on the other hand, i been using windows since 95, so i might also look at a mac for a complete change

Windows 7 if you don't care about compatibility issues and the fact that M$ is really screwing people with this OS - the changes IMO are too small to charge so much for the update. This should be free as a Service Pack for Vista. I think the bigger changes were made with XP SP2 than with this shit...
