Has anyone tried proxy membership subscription service? I think that has the potential to make a decent passive income every month if you are able to keep the proxy 99% unblocked; which is possible if its made into a private proxy.
I already done that last years. The respond is not so encouraging due to the most of proxy user is student which unafford to pay for the service.
Yeah I am interested in knowing how much you were charging as well. Recently I did a survey poll with about 20k friends who are students on my myspace group, out of 356 votes in total 71% voted they would pay $5/mth for this premium proxy while out of this 71% only 35% have a debit/credit card to pay through online gateways. Also were you using any script for this membership thingy?
Hi proxy owners, I have visited this thread in a while. I need opinions about our Proxy Promo List Script. We are currently debating making the code open source and free. Do you think this is wise, would it help. We no longer have the programming resources to continue development and thought if we go open source, users could share mod's etc. We would request a backlink be maintained, and if people wanted to donate.....whats your thoughts.
@ Shadey - I think it would be a good idea however it will be unfair on all of the people who have paid for the script. Also if it goes open source it is most likely people won't share mods etc... So actually for you it wouldn't be that good.
- cgoly01 - this sort of thing happens all the time, when a developer stops development. I've had some offers for it, but to be honest, not nearly enough I would rather just make the code open source....or perhaps I will unencode it and up the price up and then it will get nulled all over.....lol.....decisions decisions.
Shadey, open source is great but I think it would be unfair for those who bought your script. I didn't buy it but just my 2 cents. Then again I have a friend who threw away the proxy list script that he bought from you as he could not get any support in the last few mths. So maybe if the script is released as an open source, people can find support here in the forums i guess. Anyway this season has been kinda quiet in here =/
No idea who your friend is, but if they put in a ticket we work our best to fix the problem (when most times it is not script error) ..... perhaps he should put a support ticket in..... if he emailed or IM'ed those might not get answered. Please ask your friend to send me the support ticket ID so I can research to see.... PS our script is not proxy list script.....
what about http://www.techentrance.com/ ? is it still good? which one should i choose O2ProxyHost.Com or techentrance.com ?
Some of my proxies have increased over 100% in traffic lately and i had to upgrade servers. I am pushing out at least 250GB a day. Has anyone here installed GNINX and have it running fine with Glype??? Please let me know if you have achieved anything good by installing gninx. I have just upgraded my server to a quad core and it's already starting to show it's weakness.
I'm currently hosted w/ o2proxy, they have a promo this month and youl get a good discount on their packages. Btw Techentrance is also good(probably the best proxy hosting service).
whats that ? or u talking about http://nginx.net ? i have seen this server on few high traffic russian sites. i think its good to serve high hits. may not good for proxy
