You don't need an eBook or CD, just read the Wordpress Codex. It's a beautiful thing, and is available in several languages http://codex.wordpress.org http://codex.wordpress.org/New_To_WordPress_-_Where_to_Start Install a local copy of Wordpress on your own computer (using something like XAMPP), and then fiddle around until it starts to make sense.
what you would like to learn? whether it is coding or usage ? You can check wordpress.org site. It has nice tutorials. Ebooks or CDs won't help much.

You want to learn how to use it or how to do things for it, like design etc? As far as how to use it, nothing beats just logging into it and getting stuck in.
