When is the right time to place adsense in my website

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by invalidid87, Oct 22, 2009.

I have started a new website and am planning to put some adsense ads in it.

I have read many articles stating that it is good to put adsense in a website after it receives a good amount of traffic..

Is this true? So, is it better for me to place the ads once I the website a decent amount of traffic?

    Suggestions are welcome

hmm it is general understanding while you apply for new adsense account.
but in this case, (In think) you can place ads on your site anytime. ;)

I start placing adsense the moment I start the website. As long as your website does not become solely filled with adsense it should be alright.

Just keep it under 3 google ads per page and don't overload your site with other ad companies at the start and you should be fine.

Wait until you rank on the front page of Google. Doing otherwise could get you smart priced because the ads shown might not be targeted if the search leading to your site is weak.

In the meantime you can slap on a Clickbank banner or an affiliate product of some kind to earn the odd sale. Once you add Adsense, take everything else off and run with it.

    Good luck

    Agreed.

Google has it in their TOS for adsense that the site cannot be
    made just for adsense.

    So be careful

It is advised to wait for decent traffic to flow to your site before placing the adsense ads because with less traffic, you earn almost nothing. This will make you tense and you are forced to think that adsense is not for you. So build traffic before placing ads.

Take it a step further...put an interesting eye-catching image in the places where your ads will one day be. This way your daily readers and newcomers will not be trained to look away and hate those sections of your site. Either way it's probably best to wait. Money is a byproduct of being successful, so become successful = traffic, which will result in $$. Best of luck.

I don't think he said it was just for adsense. And if you think about it, that's a very subjective thing. What google means by it, is those adsense scraper sites that are automatically created by a robot and have no purpose but to leech off adsense are going to get banned (and they put that in the TOS so they can point to it when asked to explain why their lame black hat site was banned).

I'd put just one adsense block and a few other affiliate ads around. But that's my preference. Depends on the site, which the OP has not told us.

Thanks for the tip. Is using Clickbanner banners against Adsense TOS?

Thats a good idea, but as far as I know using adsense ads in places where content once was is a better idea than using adsense in places where images were. What do you say?

Why not take a look at the Adsense TOS and find out? It spells out in black and white what the rules are, there's no real mystery to it.

you can apply for any time, but most of the people say that its wise to get some traffic before actually applying for adsense
