yea thanx rosie, my sites are 100K-400K in rankings yea i noticed the same thing in it getting harder to change ranks the higher u get..but why? does it use a different method to collect stats other than toolbars/
I have to laugh when I see websites quote their Alexa ranking to try and entice advertisers, or show how popular their site is compared to anothers - Alexa rating means nothing, don't waste your time - go and find some links dammit!
Obviously it means something. For example, check out AdBrite. They lists a site's Alexa rank in the advertising details.
yesterday I saw the date on my ranking Aug10 but reverted to 28JUL in a couple of hours. and no change in the ranking when it showed 10AUG
alexa seems to be not working for me at the moment (i.e i carnt get to the site) and my firefox extension shows n/a for every site
Don't webmaster sites (sites relating to webmasters) have an inflated alexa ranking? Seeing as webmasters would be most likely to install the alexa toolbar. In other news, my ranking hasnt changed in a while. I get a one week average all the time (about 250k) but it never updates! garbage.
it would be a half decent system if it wasn't for SCUM like you. Blackhat sucks and it drags the internet down, stop killing us
Some newer sites jumped millions into 300K region today Fun thing to watch. Alexa does make sense in the respect that a few Ad sellers, textlinks, adbrite etc display them - take a look for yourself
I'm not sure that the values are accurate.. For example the rating for tgdb.net is lower than befiore, yet it has increased 300% in traffic and visitors in the last month. On the other side, my first site that I've started - helpedia.com - which I kind of neglect right now because of other projects, has raised from 1,016,462 to 318,298 .. Very weird..
Just noticed that Alexa did update their rankings the other day... yeah, they seemed to have held off updating.
