somebody have a list of tips useful when you are doing link development? for example: try to get link with high page rank use the keyword in the anchor, etc... I'm specially interested in know about from what pages is better to be linked and what pages are better to use for link to other sites it's better to have side wide exchanges? or from specific pages... etc... Thanks in advance!
Link exchanges are not a good way to build backlinks. Google considers them unnatural links - i.e. you are only linking to the site because they are linking to do. You want links from sites already ranking for the keyword you are targeting - the higher they rank, the better.
thanks @mjewel you mean I've to search sites with the keywords I want to rank and try to get backlinks from those site... right? anyway I think link exchange worth, so anybody with tips are welcome...
i say, link exchange is bad, direct link exchange - but there is also a wide link exchange within ur own network of sites, one way links are the best. the best thing is to create a net of links i call it, direct linking to ur website is only from relevent sites with proper anchor texts, then if site not relevent as much as it needs then use non seo anchor text. then if site is a spam site or link farm site but with PR and not relevent, u have such sites PR6-7, i link to an article on ezine from those, and from ezine i link to mysite. or u can link to a wordpress blog page or blogger page directly with only 1 article in it
mjewel is so right imo. Backlinks from a wide variety of sites that are relevant to your niche are also important. The higher the PR the better, if PR still has a value and I am beginning to wonder. Links from a range of PR is also important but again I am reading that google is continuing to devalue PR to the point where it is likely to be rendered much like reciprocal linking. While I don't care for the and I will link to you from another of my sites formula many still push it and I don't find it valuable. Article writing- I do it but I enjoy writing and I don't do any article spinning as I think it is junk for the most part. blog commenting- have done a lot of it but don't think it is a very high quality link back. Squidoo- again a lot of writing and you must promote it to get and keep any Google value. There are so many link back strategies you will have much to choose from, as long as you are persistent and patient.
yes back linking is not easy. but you should use blogroll linking i think that is better than other links.
not sure why you think link exchanges are worthy! they simply dont work anymore. at least not the way they used to work few years back. below are some link building methods you can utilize: article distribution blog commenting directory submission press release social media/web 2.0 pages (setup pages on web 2.0 sites and link to yours) these are enough to keep anyone busy for a while
I agree with sultanofseo, those are great basic to learn as a beginner. After you master those, then you can move on to the fancy stuff
Did you mean the free directories or the paid ones? From my experience writing articles gives the best results - much better than adding to directories. Unfortunately it is much more time consuming too.
Every blogger try his very best to acquire backlinks for his blog in different ways. Links coming from various sources that are relevant to the niche elevates the ranking of your content in SERP's. Although there are so many ways to gather backlinks, I would prefer not to discuss about various less popular and black hat techniques to acquire backlinks. Follow my simple techniques and in no time your backlinks will increase. Comment On Do-Follow Blogs There are hundreds of do-follow blogs that are a good source of acquiring backlinks for your blog. Create a list of do-follow blogs that are relevant to your niche and religiously comment on these blogs. Do not spam the blog and devote some time in giving useful and constructive comments. Blogs having do-follow links enabled have strict commenting policies, and any spammer is instantly kicked out. Guest Blogging I myself use this method to acquire backlinks as well as exposure for my blog. Build relationships with fellow bloggers and submit a guest post for their blogs. Often some bloggers commit a mistake of creating a filler post for the guest post. Remember, its all about your credibility and reputation. If the content is not for your own blog that doesn't mean you can afford to create a filler post. Giving your very best gives you the required traffic and of course a backlink. Co-Author a Blog Once you get popular and start to get known in your domain, there are many blog co-authoring opportunities. You can also search on Google about various opportunities of co-authoring a blog. Negotiate a fair deal that is a win-win situation for both the blog owner and you. It will give you exposure, linkbacks and money, all at one time. Article Marketing At weekends you can submit couple of articles to various popular article directories like Ezine Articles, GO Articles and Search Warp. Create a resource box and linkback to your blog. Apart from gaining a backlink, article submission also sends some good traffic back to the blog. Create Linkbait More and more bloggers try their hand on this technique to get massive number of backlinks in quick time. Having said that, one must keep in mind that its an art and comes by experience. You may or may not succeed in your various attempts of creating viral content. Still, you must try your hand at it and all will follow by experience. Participate In Do-Follow Forums Like do-follow blogs, there are dozens of do-follow discussion forums that can be a good source of acquiring backlinks. Daily keep an hour aside for these forums, and build up your links by taking active part on a regular basis. Again the forum should be relevant to your blog's niche. Blog Carnivals Create some good articles containing contextual links to your blog and submit them to blog carnivals. Once a month, I submit couple of articles to blog carnivals that gives me valuable linkbacks and decent traffic. Create Quality Content And last but not the least is your blog content. The best way to organically build backlinks to your blog is to create consistent quality content. Piling up massive amount of pillar articles automatically generates backlinks when people quote, refer and discuss about your articles and posts. Put all this tips listed above in action and with time your backlinks will grow, but always remember to be patient.
forum posting but make sure that you leave the links on threads that have some PR on them...that will get better rankings than if you just leave them on a new thread or a zero PR thread...good luck
